Ebay sellers that block you just for aking a question

Here is my question:
<< <i>
hi
i have this card already but am looking for an upgrade. is there noticable wear on more than 1 corner?
thank you
matt
>>
Is there anything in that simple question I said wrong?.....No, I dont think so. I asked that question on a buy it now in some losers ebay store about a week ago. So he never replied. I figured its only $10.00 so just buy it and take a chance. I go to hit buy it now and I'm blocked
What a loser
So I just signed out used my other ebay id and bought the card.
I think when I get it, Im gonna leave him positive feedback (if it goes okay) and say "Blocks you for asking questions" or something like that
Does this stuff happen to anyone else or just me? Its the second time for me

Another question. That's it, you're blocked.
Can't say I've ever had that happen before. You'd probably been better off staying away from a seller like that.
Personally, I block someone who asks questions that indicate they are a problematic bidder. Here are questions I have saved from potential bidders who are on my blocked bidder list for eternity:
1. What is your return policy if this doesn't grade as high as I think it should? I am a dealer and need to make a profit from your card after I have it graded.
2. That card looks too good to be real, so it must be a fake, but I'm willing to pay you $5 for it anyway.
3. I just wanted you to know that if I win the card it might take me about a month to get the money to you. Is that ok?
4. Here is my phone number. I refuse to bid on any of your cards unless you call me in person. No collect calls please.
I had that happen a while back. Some guy writes "I'm not a professional grader, so I'm not qualified to render an opinion as to the condition of this card. See scan and judge for yourself." And of course, the scan is blurry and small.
So, I ask him a few specific questions that I figure are not “opinion” based, but rather fact based: “are there any creases, stains, or scuff marks? To your knowledge, has this card been altered in any way?”
The guy replies back with a rant about how he’s been in the sports card industry since 1969 and has tens of thousands of happy customers, and how he’s never been so offended in his life, blah blah blah.
I emailed him back saying that I wasn’t accusing him of anything, just trying to ask a few specific questions about the card.
Well, I figured “what the heck” and tried to bid. Nope. Blocked.
Some sellers really need to put in their auction “You are bidding on the privilege to pay me money. If you win, I’ll send a piece of cardboard.”

Sure, I can understand these two questions but questions about condition are not offensive. If the scan stinks or the "all cards are nr mint-mint" line is used, questions have to be asked.

Personally, I would never block you for the question you asked, but I would tell you that if it does not grade higher than your other card, I would not issue a refund. My scans are huge anyway and descriptions go into great detail, so there was no reason for me to receive those types of questions.
<< <i>Read the first two questions again, and then pretend that you're the seller. >>

Then you are a far better seller than the chump Im talking about and you have nothing to worry about.

<< <i>As a buyer, I wouldn't ask a question like that, so it's difficult for me to pretend if I wouldn't ask the question to begin with. If the scan isn't sufficient, then I would be suspicious right off the bat and would skip right over that auction. >>
Not all bad scans are sellers hiding things. I have bought many cards when bad scans or no scans were used. In fact, my last psa sub had many raw card purchases off ebay where sellers worked with me to get me the best possible card. Sellers that had multiple copies were digging through their stuff just to help me. Why? because I sent them a simple polite question and told them I was working on a psa graded set and needed the best conditioned cards.
Chumps that block you or ignore logical, polite questions have no business selling.

YOU, my friend, have a problem!
<< <i>I love the fact that he didn't reply to your question, he blocked you, and YOU STILL BOUGHT THE CARD, which I'm assuming was an Emmitt.

2. That card looks too good to be real, so it must be a fake, but I'm willing to pay you $5 for it anyway.
Question 1 didn't bother me because he was looking to make a profit. It bothered me because if the card grades a 3 instead of a 4, this clown is sending it right back for a refund. He had poor feedback and one seller indicated that he had returned a card because it achieved a Mint 9 instead of the Gem Mint 10 he was looking for.
Question 2 is like a slap in the face when you are selling a near mint Dan Marino rookie card and get offered $5 for it.
Irrational questions and poor feedback will always tell the story.
Suggested response: None, because by the time you get it back you won't be able to neg me or file with paypal, lol.

This is all well and good but these questions asked by morons, have nothing to do with the original intent of my thread.
I asked a polite, fair question and was blocked because of it. It was wrong for that seller to do. If buyers are not allowed to ask a question , maybe he should put in all his auctions:
"Please dont ask me questions about my cards, I dont want to deal with people who actually care about what they are buying"

<< <i>I would block you just for being a Dallas Cowboys fan.
Me Too ! Lol
he probably just throught you were an anally-retentive douche bag who was going to give him trouble if the card wasn't PSA 10 quality.
"Not that there's anything wrong with that."
I agree with your question but would like to digress and hear from Ms. Lawnmowerman on the question and or statement a few back about you having a problem. Even after you were blocked you still went around it and Bought !!??????
Huh !!!????
I wouldn't have given this seller a plugged nickel if he was selling a 1962 Mars Attacks #55 Checklist Unchecked in PSA 10 condition and the last bid with 3 seconds to go was .99 cents !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Neil, what does Tonya have to do with me buying a $10.00 card? I'm pretty sure I can afford it

C'mon, this is a simple Yes or No--it does or it does not. And if not willing to commit in writing, you could just offer to send a large scan.
I sell on ebay about 98:1 vs buying and get more than my share of annoying questions every day, but anyone who can't deal with this simple & polite question is going to go mad once the morons start e-mailing en masse.
Editing to note that I seem to have some time unaccounted for on ebay if selling 98:1 -- what am I doing the rest of the time to round out the 100%
Matt, you may bid on any of my cards you want.

Thanks Josh.
I would gladly bid on your cards
Now imagine a 1993 Finest Refractors football set. Man, that would have been some set!
Its still strange to me why a Finest football set (minus refractors) was made in 1992, skipped in 1993 and then started up again in 1994.
