Does anybody know how to crack a card from another company to send in to be re-graded?

Hi, I have a 9134 Goudey card that I want to crack out of a BVG(AKA BGS) and send it in to PSA. Does anybody know what I should do to take it out of the BVG case? How anybody ever cracked a BVG or BGS case to send to PSA? I think cracking it from the case would probably be much easier than to take the card out of the BGS inner sleeve. Does anybody know how to do either the correct/safest way? Again, this is a 1934 Goudey so the inner sleeve is sealed the usual way, made for a smaller card. Any help would be appreciated, thank you for your timeimage

  • Oof. BGS/BVG cases are no fun. I use a drill or pliers to break off one of the top corners, then insert a screwdriver between the two halves and pry for my dear life .

Safe? Heck no. I always end up with little bits all over.

The little inner baggy is the easy part. It's just a soft sleeve.

I use rose/garden shears, then the flathead screwdriver. Watch out for flying shards when you snip off the corner though.
