Opinions please!

I have been thinking of cracking this out and resubmitting, anyone think it has a shot at an 8? Thanks!

First thing I thought was that the centering looks close.

Don't think you would get an OC/Q but still not worth it IMO.

I think you guys are right, I stole this beauty on ebay for less than SMR, I have compared it to many other '53 Topps 7's and alot of them have quite a bit of chipping on the black box so comparing this one I thought it might be worth it but I will enjoy it for what it is, no need to get greedy- besides I wont sell it anyways.

I actually would give it a shot as I don't believe it would get an 7OC. Take the price of an 8 and what you paid and see if there is enough of a gap to warrant a few shots. Personally I have found going to shows and doing the same day service a great way to get bumps. I recieved a 62 Maz 8 and a 1969 PSA 9 at shows that way.

  • This guy went into a bar and ordered a beer and a shot of whiskey. The bartender delivered it to him, and the guy drank the beer and threw the whiskey on his hand. He then ordered another round. When the bartender gave him the beer and the shot of whiskey, he drank the beer, and again, poured the whiskey on his hand. He ordered another beer and whikey, did the same thing, and told the bartender, I want another of each. Finally, the bartender said, "Guy, I've been watching you here, and I think you've had enough. Every time I bring you a beer and whiskey, you drink the beer, and spill the whiskey all over your hand." The guy said, "I'm not drunk! There's a perfectly good reashon for it. Give me anadder round." The bartender says, "So, you're not drunk, huh. And there's a perfectly good 'reashon' fer why you're spilling your beer on your hand? OK. What is it?" The guy looked at the bartender, looked at his hand, and said, "I wanna get my date drunk..."

That sure is a sharp Campy. I think you'd get a 7.5 from SGC, but I don't think the centering would get you into a PSA 8, but you never know with such little wear to the black area. Maybe take one shot for a PSA 8 on the $13/5 day special. Good luck if you send it in, and either way you have a beautiful 53 Campy.
