Frustration with Topps...

Okay, today I get home and find two envelopes from Topps in the box. I assumed they were my redemptions. Well, turns out they're the replacements. I've got all the auto's and game used for the 06 bowman heritage set except the two that I sent in to redeem. Now they're telling me it's not possible and they sent me an 06 turkey red and an 06 bowman chrome. Do I need these to complete my set or is it okay not to have them? Does this mean that my set will never be complete? Someone help!!!!!

I am not famaliar with this set, but I would first find out if the cards were actually ever made or not. Perhaps Topps over promised and under delivered and the cards were never even produced. Or it could be that they sent out too many redemption cards for the amount of autographs and the redemptions are now all gone.

Have ya checked ebay to see if the auto cards exist?

Wouldn't hurt to write them - what were the two cards they sent you?

Topps must be backlogged with old redeemed stuff now. I got a card in the mail today..a 2005 Derek Anderson FB auto from Topps Pristine even though my redemption was for a 2007 Chrome FB rookie.

I waited so long for my redemptions that I totally forgot about them. They gave me two replacements totally different years and brand. I guess they figured they could send me anyones auto, and that would be good enough. Poor job on Topps end, why even do redemptions on a certain player, year and brand if you are not going to fulfill that request on your end?

I received a Topps Dwayne Wade Auto from the 2005-06 Style 52 Basketball on Saturday. I sent this to them well over a year ago by registered mail and like JeremyD had totally forgotten about it. I cant believe it but someone is actually slower than PSA. LOL

I did not know there were Auto's in that 05-06' Style 52 set?

I just looked in Beckett. It is a Autographed Dwayne Wade Comic card #DWA4 numbered 7/49 on the back.

I think I sent mine in a few weeks after the season started and upon further review it was 2006 not 2007. I had totally forgotten about it, but had sent it in last Novemeber or so and just got it back this Monday.

I forget the exact wording, but it said something to the effect of "Here is your Topps redemption card replacement, we were unfortunately unable to get the exact card your card had said. We know its been a long time and hope you enjoy your card."

I got mine on monday too. It sounds like they did these replacements and sent them all out to us with the "sorry about that letter"., Enjoy. Did anyone recieve the right redemption card this week, or is it all Topps replacements?

i have gotten those letters as well. I think i have only gotten one card that I actually sent in for. thats bad. even worse when you buy the redemption on ebay. lucky for me they were just to complete sets. i am currently waiting for one from last years finest football. i emailed them and about a week later after i sent a reply to the canned email they sent me their response was, we havent been able to schedule a time with the player yet. well lets see i sent it in after the nfl season, what else was the rookie doing? why doenst topps find these players in violation of their contract? this time i was smart enough to pick up another redemption card to hold the place in my set until i get the card. my bet is that i wont ever get it. i will get a few crap packs and an auto of some player that got cut in camp.

It could be that they are tying up all the loose ends before the new owners take over....

I am still waiting on a 2006 Topps Chrome Brian Calhoun rookie auto that I sent in a little less than a year ago. Ironically, I actually pulled that very same card from a pack a few days later and it is now in a PSA 10 holder. Not sure why they packed redemptions if there were live cards ready to pack out.

I had sent the same Calhoun Chrome redemtion and was sent a Reggie Williams Draft Picks and Prospects auto. This card is nothing to me because I only do the Chrome sets. My redemption card is going back with a letter. I am letting them know this is not ok!

Isn't this a bait and switch. They say you can get X auto in their product but when you send it in you get Y. Classic case to me. I bet they don't do this on name players for fear of getting sued.
