June sub arrived

I received the grades last week and they arrived today (CA to NJ in 5 days, including the weekend!) I had one card come bak not holdered evidence of trimming and I'll get it scanned later tonight... maybe someone can point out the trimmed area?

This card came back a 5 and I looked at the cards with a loupe before sending them out and I must've missed something. I took another good look at it in the holder and still don't see what I missed the 1st time.

I'm not expert at grading by any means so this is just a guess. Maybe the printing spots in the red and blue areas of the ribbon dropped the grade? It is a nice looking card though! Great centering!

  • A clean looking 5 usually has a back paper wrinkle (crease that does not go all the way through the card). I've seen it heavily with 55B FB. let us know
  • The back of the card appears clean, at least thru the slab. The back's centering is as good as the front and free of stains. I thought about the 4 bubble spots on the front, but they're typical of the Rookie star cards from the set. I've seen 7s & 8s with far more bubble spot on the card.
Other than the 4 spots, I didn't see anything else wrong on this card when I sent it in. I guess I'll have to crack it out and take a real good look at the back of the card. because I can't spot anything wrong thru the slab.
  • I highly doubt the "fish eye" dots would downgrade the card. Nice looking card(8ish) that gets a 5 has to have paper wrinkle. Backs are usually overlooked.
  • I'm concentrating on the back of the card and thinking this is a crack and resub. I just found the wrinkle, it very small, on the front and right near the ball (right where you would hold to put in or take out of a penny-sleeve or CD1) I wouldn't have missed this when I was getting the cards ready for the submission, but I suppose I could've damaged the card putting it in a CD1. image
  • This one was a nice surprise! Sorry about the LARGE scan.

  • This one I had figured for a strong 8. Another nice surprise, low pop.
