United States Postal Service problems?

Over the last 2 months, I have encountered several problems with the US Postal service including the following...

1. Misdelivered mail
2. Lost packages
3. Mail theft in which I'm waiting for the US Postal Inspector to contact me with no response after two weeks.

I changed all of my mail for "pick-up" at the post office and I'm still having delayed and lost packages. This is costing me big buck$.

Is anyone else experiencing these problems? How will sellers react if I request UPS/Airborne service for Ebay auctions?

Thank for any advice!

  • knock on wood.

but i have had 1 or 2 bad experiences over a 10 year period, I deal with 2 post offices primarily; one at home and one at work; i know the regular workers by name and am friendly with the local postman who delivers my mail. I think its paid off lol.

Strange! In the last few months I have had two packages get lost only to be delivered damaged. Both mailers were obviously lost at the po because of the amount of time it took to get them and the condition of the packages. They both were filthy with tire tracks on them! One the cards was creased in half.
  • I have had numerous bad experiences with Airborne / DHL over the years, so I personally wouldn't bid or buy from a seller that used them. They're REALLY good at misdelivery--as my next door and upstairs neighbors will attest. My favorite was when they left a package unattended on my next door neighbor's porch. They were on vacation, so it sat there for a week. Good thing it was an enclosed porch. The bad thing was it contained a work project that was time-sensitive.

Haven't had any problems with UPS or FedEx though (knocking on wood).

  • What really bothers me is that we had crooks steal or mail over a two week period and have them on video. They stole several checks which were deposited into an online bank (Zions bank) and I have about 10 packages with PSA graded cards that are missing from the same dates. Although, I can't prove they stole the cards (I know they did), the Postal Inspector's ofice is sitting on this while these guys move to their next victims! image

As long the buyer is willing to pay for any additional costs incurred (if any), I'm more than happy to send by any method preferred. My customers are my income & I will accommodate them if at all possible. Just my 2 cents.

If you live in a rural area, using UPS or DHL doesn't always avoid USPS. I deliver packages every day shipped by both and dropped off at USPS for delivery. UPS and DHL save money by having us do the delivery once they get them to the right town.

If you have time send me a PM with everything that happened and when it started, and I'll see if I can get you some phone #s or people to call or maybe some other advice -

  • UPS SUCKS!!!!! I had 2 packages delivered by them in a weeks time and they jacked me over TWICE! The thing with UPS is you never know when they are going to deliver unlike USPS, which is usually on a regular time basis. UPS can come anywhere from 9 am to 8 pm or not at all like they did to me.

I had two separate deliveries that had tracking. Both were on the truck to be delivered on two separate days and they never came. I checked the tracking and the lazy driver didn't feel like delivering so he filed it as unable to obtain signature. They did this twice to me in a weeks period on two separate packages. Customer Service is a joke also. They don't listen to anything and if it is filed as unable to obtain signature, then that's what happened, not that they were too damn lazy to deliver. I contacted the place I ordered from and told them to put all future orders on hold and ship them via USPS.
  • I just got an email from my landlord........rent check hasn't arrivedimageimage I sent it out 3 weeks ago, and he lives about 150 miles from me....should be ample time to get there...right??

I also just saw on my local news 2 people were arrested for stealing mail. They were independant contractors who take mail from 1 post office to another in town.....image

  • I have had several packages not show up over the last month or so, some had no delivery confirmation so who knows if they were really ever shipped, a couple had delivery confirmation and show that they were delivered but I never received them and I've had a couple of items show up opened and empty. There is a definite problem somewhere along the line and it's not my mail carrier.
