The Pinched PSA card. Any advice?

It looks like I'm not getting my 30 cards because of a damaged pinched card, instead I recieved a voucher for 6 cards worth up to $30. I wish they could tell it to me straight over the phone. They said that over the phone it was a Wacky Package card that was damaged and the corners were pinched and that it would have graded a 9, but will be changed to a 6, I got the card and it was changed to a 7. As long as my two cards were fine, thats cool. After close examination of the cards, I couldn't find where it was pinched so I left it at that. My kids now have a cool set and kind of bummed that I got credit for 6 cards, vs the 30 and still waiting for another 8 vouchers to be sent in the mail.

Also two cards of my kids have wrong labels which I'm not to worried about, they will just have to live with that, I don't want to resubmit it because it took 3 months just to get my cards back, At least they aren't my cards, so I thought, Anyways!

Today as I'm looking at my 2 cards, I noticed that the card they told me wasn't the card that got damaged. Some luck of the draw, one of my 2 cards were the damaged one. Debbie Gibson is fine she got an 8. My Conan card has been creased in half and theirs a Big thumb print on the card probley from one of the graders. Yet they still labeled it as a Gem-mint 10 it really should be graded a PSA 2 or 3

This card looks fine at first until you really closely look at it.

Giant thumb print clear as day, hard to see on the scan!

The crease in the card goes all the way through the card chopping her head off! (You can see it folded!)

This was one of my favorites, do I leave it as a Gem-mint 10, or send it back for a PSA 2. I only put a value of $30 on the submission form so if PSA would buy it back I'll only get $30. I really like the card but kind of disappointed on the out come.

Your situation is interesting and when I read your post the other day I was curious how often does PSA screw up cards like this? Scary... what if it was a VERY valuable card!? I guess that's part of the PSA game.
  • Yeah, I don't really feel like sending it back and waiting another 3 months to get it back for 1 card.

I figured my son can add it to his collection. I'll just go and look for another one. image

    enough said!.

Mechanical errors are suppose to be complete within 20 days. It has been my experience that it is faster than that. PSA will pay the shipping on mechanical errors also.
