  • A-Rod
  • I hear he may put together a good year after all.
  • I gotta agree with A-Rod as well.

  • It has to be A Rod. He is having one of the best seasons in Yankees history.
  • Alex hands down

    Alex Rodriguez
  • i'm hoping for Magglio...... Alex is too obvious....a yankee, just got to 500 hrs, blah blah.....Maggs has had an amazing year, a couple fewer RBIs and the most impressive stat (that WILL go overlooked) is that he never went more than 2 games without a hit. alex just belted more hrs. well, you could debate it ad nauseum, but unfortunately 'Arod' will always be first out of anyone's mouth....especially before a Tiger

    Granderson
  • Best player on the team with the best record in the AL..the Indians...Victor Martinez

    110 RBI's
    76 Runs
    25 HR's

**Although it is hard to argue against AROD!!!

The guy with the purple lipstick and penchant for skanky blonde strippers.

Even Yankee haters have to give to A-rod. I am not a Yankee fan (or hater) but guy has had an incredible year.

I hate the yankees but AROD gets it without a fight
  • stranger things have happened.....such as relief pitcher Willie Hernandez winning the AL MVP and Cy Young award in 1984. i still laugh at that!

i'm with Stingray on the Granderson vote....too bad they didn't do just a bit better this year, but that guy is a catalyst and possibly the best "All-Around" player in MLB

    Is this a trick question?

If anyone thinks it'll be anyone other than Arod, I'll be glad to place a bet with you and take your money image I have Magglio and Granderson on my fantasy team, so I've followed them both very closely. Had the Tigers made the playoffs, Magglio would have received a decent support of support, but still nowhere near enough to win. I love Granderson, but he can't hit lefties at all, and he strikes out way too much.

When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Just wishful thinking on my part, I know that it has to be A-Rod with the season he has had.
  • It'll be ARod in a runaway. He's hit over .300 all season, 50+ hrs, 150+ rbis & 140 runs scored. He was the only Yankee (outside of Posada) that did anything early in the season.
Of course, he can opt-out of his contract at the end of the yr.... funny how players often have career yrs with the chance of signing for BIG $$ at the end of the season.

to be fair, this is a good season for A Rod, but not way out of character. It's not like he how Adrian Beltre was in his walk season.

It won't even be close. ARod.
  • Ordonez. A much much higher batting average ( almost 60 points higher) than Arod with less than 80 strikeouts. What a season!!!!!

    .359 average
    136 rbi's
28 homeruns- playing half his games at Comerica Park
    Less than 80 strikeouts!!!!!!

  • This year by ARod reminds me of the 1999-00 NBA MVP won by Shaq who had a monster year. Everyone felt that he would be the first unamimous winner in the history of the NBA and he fell one vote short (Fred Hickman of CNN voted for AI) and even the other voters could not explain what this guy was thinking when he filled out his vote. Alex is a no brainer with this historic season but their maybe some Mr Hickman types in the mix.
