Need some advice about an Ebay suspension.

Okay, I know there are a few members here that had this happen to them, so here goes. I've been selling a little here and there over the past two years. I decide to get into selling surplus items I bought at auction--telecom equipment. I start my auctions and decide, against my better judgement, to use paypal again (paypal screwed me a few years ago). So the auctions are fine and two auctions get bought--money goes into paypal. I check today and see that my account is suspended, my auctions cancelled and my paypal account is frozen. I emailed my bidders and told them the issue and that the items were packed and ready to ship on Monday via FedEx. If I go ahead and ship them while I am still suspended, can they file a dispute and instantly get their money back? Or does it go into the paypal arbitration and at least give me a chance to enter the tracking info? Paypal wants me to verify all of my information, but several issues (proof of inventory and tracking info) are a problem. How can I give them proof of inventory, outside of sending them a picture of the items next to a newspaper or something???

Any help is greatly appeciated.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

  • Beware of fraudulent attempts like this! I get these kind of fraudulent "suspension" notices all the time, from frauds posing as PayPal, and also eBay imitators--the messages look convincingly real, but are NOT. It is simply someone trying to get your account information! Forward that e-mail you got to: spoof@paypal.com then wait for a reply. Chances are they will CONFIRM what i'm saying--that it's a bogus message that you're getting!! Do NOT reply to that phony message trying to get your personal information!
    Good luck.
  • No it's real. When I log onto paypal or ebay, they are both suspended.

Did your problems last time with paypal get resolved, or did they maybe suspend you this time to get paid from the last time? If not, any idea why you were suspended this time?

  • what is the reason for the suspension?

I wouldnt be sending anything to anyone till this was resolved and you had some answers.

Yes they were resolved after a year of fighting them and sending all of the proper documentation i.e police reports, ISP documentation (my Ebay and paypal account were hijacked and long story short, they finally agreed it was hijacked). I was suspended this time because of 'suspicious activity' with my account. I started accepting paypal again and sold $800 worth of equipment which was paid via paypal. I go to withdraw the money into my checking account and bam they suspend the accounts.

If you haven't used your PayPal account in a long time, and suddenly there's an $800 transaction, that probably set off some alarms...you should CALL them ASAP and try to get it straightened out. Number is in the "Contact Us" link. You should be able to clear it up in a couple of days.
  • Geez, I thought it was going to get better. Paypal required me to go through the motions of sending documentation on my inventory, proof of shipment, my id, credit check address etc. So I do all that. I call paypal and they tell me that once the items are received they will lift my freeze. So now I'm waiting patiently for the items to get deliverd (of course one has to be going to Hawaii). Anyway, I log on to my email today and see that two of my auctions I bid on were slammed with a NPB strike. Now what do I do? I sent payment (one of which was to Canada). Is there any winning with Ebay???

  • As soon as your Ebay account was suspended Ebay allows sellers to file NPBs and close them. You can more than likely have the strikes removed if your account i reinstated. I went through that same mess with Paypal once took me almost 6 months to get it straight.
