Just pulled a sweet redemption

I know he's been having a rough time lately but I've been after his stuff all season.

This just made my night. Heard it takes foreven to get Upper Deck to fill the redemptions though

This was the 3rd and final box of Goudy I was gonna deal with too.

    sweet
  • Nice pull, redeem it quick and pray...

Upper Deck is known for failing to fulfill redemptions, instead opting to replace with other players. I had a chuckle this year at all of the Mark Texiera signed 8x10's they sent folks this past summer.
Nolan Ryan & Edgar Martinez are my favorite players...

besides the Tiger Woods and perhaps the Lebron that is one of the best pulls. These are on card too so that will make it worth
    ALOT once you get it!

    Good Luck

    Alot

Perhaps this common spelling error began because there does exist in English a word spelled “allot” which is a verb meaning to apportion or grant. The correct form, with “a” and “lot” separated by a space is perhaps not often encountered in print because formal writers usually use other expressions such as “a great deal,” “often,” etc.

You shouldn’t write “alittle” either. It’s “a little.”

  • Oh, Allen.
That's a long road, if we start down it.
You're (your, yore) right, of course, but it would be such a hard task, teaching folks how to use this English language. I got me a big old Webster's unabridged, sitting here, on my desk. Dang near five inches thick. I crack it open about 2, 3 times a day, looking up stuff. I also got me one them old Hacker's manuals hereabouts, for looking up stuff and whatnot.
    Carry on.

Me is used in many constructions where strict grammarians prescribe I. This usage is indicative of the shrinking range of the nominative form: me began to replace I sometime around the 16th century largely because of the pressure of word order. I is now chiefly used as the subject of an immediately following verb. Me occurs in every other position: absolutely <who, me?>, emphatically <me too>, and after prepositions, conjunctions, and verbs, including be <come with me> <you're as big as me> <it's me>. Almost all usage books recognize the legitimacy of me in these positions, especially in speech; some recommend I in formal and especially written contexts after be and after as and than when the first term of the comparison is the subject of a verb.

I am joking around on a slow Friday evening. Not to be a d!(k or anything. Keep in mind that I am from WV and use the word "ain't" and "y'all" atleast a few times a day.

    I've learned a lot here.
    I've learned often here.
I've learned a good deal here.

and I've learned a whole bunch here.

It is cool though that you are a Red Sox fan and don't have to pay the rediculous amount for redemptions that probably won't get signed anyways. Congrats on the pull though!

Well, yeah. I was taught that I is OK as the subject, but not as the object. In many instances, the subject is assumed. So, for instance, "Come with me" really means "You come with me" and "Who, me?" actually means "Who do you refer to, me?" and so on and so forth. That's not my primary concern, however.

I'd just like see elimination of "literally," since nearly no one uses it correctly.
I'd also like to see elimination of "push the envelope" since the true phrase "push the outside of the envelope" [see Tom Wolfe].

Allen is correct, however, in that there is no such thing as alot or alittle.
Come to think of it, I'd just be happy if people would figure out how to use the spell check. Hell, I'm happy anyway.

That's certainly a sweet redemption. I bought a blaster of Goudey just to rip something. I really didn't enjoy opening them, esp. since I had already purchased all the singles I wanted from the set on eBay. I would have enjoyed pulling that though.

    Congrats.

While this is completely true, I don't think I know anyone who rips as much product as he does either. What a life image.

    Japanese for "autograph" apparently...

Great pull! I have had some terrific experiences with UD redemptions in the past year. I've redeemed online and hunkered down for the formerly usual 6-8 month wait (at least) but have actually been receiving back cards within 4-6 weeks. I even got a Johan Santana auto/jersey in less than 7 days at one point. Don't lose ALL hope for a quick turnaround...just don't expect one!

Sold on a second chance for just over $1,000

TNT- You may not bust that much wax, but I am sure you have a Ruth ball, and maybe a 52 Topps Mantle? Correct me if I am wrong. I would take those over bustin new wax every week anytime.

    LOL Mr. Allen , very close . . . . In team signed baseballs I have . .

As a matter of fact , I just had a pretty decent job offer , the only thing is it would require me to invest about 50 K into my company , 2 more vans and the tools is all and 4 more guys and I really have been thinking about selling the 32 to help come up with the money so I don't have to go into debt.

The investment could net me about 250,000 for the year so I really have some thinkin to do , I really would hate to get rid of it , but chances like these don't come around too often .
