rare rounded (cut) corners

Seller claims the new ones on ebay are fake. I know nothing about this but he claims his are real since the corners are rounded. In all 3 auctions....the corners are roundish but CUT looking to me. ??

  • Yep, definitely cut. I can't say I ever seen a "naturally" rounded corner that had a flat edge.
  • Unsure if the seller will actually do anything but its different than the usual rude response I get.....

    Dear 1989_fleer_bill_ripken_collector,

Hi......I just looked at them again & you may be right, some do look
a suspect but I have others that look ok
thanks for the input, I will call the guy i purchased them from

These look like they were cut to make them fit into a photo album. Very unfortunate. Still, I wouldn't put these in the same class as trimmed cards.

  • From seller.....

Hi....I just bought these last week & didn't really
    study them close enuff

it does seem obvious now that some were messed with
I wish a I had a genuine card to compare them to
but since it was obvious to u on my scan, it makes me
    really wonder

what bothers me is the seller deals in vintage cards &
obviously missed it or didn't care

    anyways again appreciate the input

in other words, he got suckered !
  • Verrry interesting...

The seller is also selling these - item#150161361823 - that have more "rounded" corners.

And he bought these recently from a very reputable dealer that we all know - itme# 120157211110.

I have been trying to understand this issue for a few months now. I have seen the square corner, round corner, and "cut" corner versions. I also read that the square corner version was a "find" back in 1981-82. I have also read that those are reprints. Does anyone have more information on this set? I really like them and have been trying to put this set together.

  • the sellers listings are obscenely long and annoying. my eyes. my eyes!
  • I am the person who listed the Bond bread cards on ebay being discussed here

First of all I have pulled all 3 auctions as I have no interest in selling cards that appear to have been tampered with
& because I have no interest in scamming collectors for a few measly $$$

If you read my feedback, you can see I have 99+% happy clientele, 10 negs & not one was for sportcards & have never had 1 sportcard, raw or graded ever returned
You will also see I offer a 100% money back guarantee on virtually everything I sell
    Scammers don't do that

How many sellers of sportcards on Ebay offer that?

I offer return privileges even on graded cards, Wow I must be out of my mind!!

I bought these cards from a Ebay seller with 14042 feedback, 100% perfect feedback
So I trusted the seller that he was selling "good" merchandise
If you want his name someone listed the ebay item #
go & see who it is

I called him yesterday & left a message as he didn't answer his phone

I will ask for him to refund my money
Based on his feedback I don't expect any problems
If there is a problem I will Post a new thread Here but I expect a 100% amicable resolution to this purchase

To Boba.......I'm sorry my listings are obscenely long & annoying

Obviously your a fan of the lazy ebayer who loves to list a item with one short sentence discussing the item for sale
BUT has 6 paragraphs detailing his Terms of Sale

I've sold over 1900+ items to date & this was the 1st time I've heard this complaint
Actually I get compliments from buyers who APPRECIATE the fact I FULLY describe items
You are assuming everyone that see's a listing knows what the item for sale is
Obviously we will not be doing much business together in the future

All I can say about 1947 Bond bread cards is be extremely careful when purchasing these cards
Best I can tell, most of these cards listed on ebay are suspect at best
buy from reputable sellers, preferably one familiar with the issue
Is that why the respected grading services don't grade them?

I've been collecting for 50 yrs & just learned another valuable lesson with these cards

Thanks for listening & your comments are welcome

  • Nope, we probably arent going to do any business on ebay, but I am no fan of lazy Ebayers, I do appreciate a good picture and fitting description, it is of course appreciated. I honestly do not care for your listing, I'm glad it works for you, but I do think it might actually cost you some bids. here is all the text for ONE pack of cards. (scroll down ) or click on the links up in the first post. The listing would look more professional and concise with 75% less of what you have there, just my opinion, but I think I'm in the majority on this one. Anything that shouts FREE BONUS! also makes me want to turn away. Best of luck with your listings, no ill will intended, just making an observation. It was good of you to pull the auctions in question and come on here with an explanation.

    Cheers,
    Leo

(this really is over the top)

Here is a 1960 Topps tatto Unopened Pack

As you can see part of the wrapper on the left border is missing, but you can get the pack at a bargain price

& the starting bid is only 77¢ ++

I will include Two FREE Bonuses to make this a even sweeter deal

Bonus #1 is the 1980 Reggie jackson Accel Card, this card was given away at The 1980 SEMA show in las Vegas, the largest trade show of it's type in the world.......I was there there & scored a bunch for FREE, & of course they are worth a bit more than that......I recently sold a Graded version for $80......Anyways that's the first Bonus

Bonus #2 is a Gift Certificate Good for A assortment of Magazine subscriptions, Just select any titles you want, 100% FREE

    .

Need more than one ? , Inquire, I may have more

Any questions ?? ask before bidding & I answer all replies promptly

Just another great reason to buy from GTX45

Any questions? inquire for prompt reply

Great Reasons Why to Buy from GTX45

    1. Everyone (100%) who has ever purchased a item from me has received their item or received a full 100% refund.....NO one has lost even one red cent buying from me

    2. I offer a Money back guarantee on most items I sell. What a novel concept?

    3. I don't charge a restocking fee on returned items....

    4. I ship FAST.....Insured items go out every Tues & Fri...non-insured items go out daily.....The reason I only ship twice a week is I don't drive due to illness, getting to the post office is not easy for me, BUT getting out orders on a timely fashion is a priority for me Read my Feedback....you will see how many buyers state how quick their orders arrived....that's because they are used to buying from sellers who think it's okay to ship your item whenever they feel like it....

    5. I describe items so you know what your bidding on.... .If you still need more info contact me, I'm glad to send more info......Don't you get upset when some sellers put up a pathetic scan & no description & then tell "YOU DECIDE" if you want to buy the item.... .You would if you had enough information to make a intelligent choice.... these sellers need to be beat with a Singapore cane till they promise no more of these moronic listings.

    6. I offer Money back on graded sportcards, coins & comic books. Grading services are not perfect.....It's your money ..... You must be totally satisfied or your money back..... I see so many listings who refuse to offer refunds on graded items, maybe you should ask yourself why?

    7. Check my Feedback.....Please.....you will see why so many Ebayers buy from me

    8. Shipping & handling Fees: I ship some items for FREE & have very reasonable shipping fees. I DO NOT use shipping fees as a Profit Source, unlike some Ebay sellers

    9. Bonuses....As many of you know I usually offer or include a Free Bonus with most orders..... Sometimes it's a baseball card or sometimes my bonus is worth more than the item you purchased. Just a little way of thanking you for buying from me, there are a lot of sellers on ebay & I am trying to "bribe" you into buying from me

    10. Phone calls... I know most Ebay people don't believe in using the phone, but if you need to call me or need me to call you, ASK..I don't hide behind my email address... Calling is not against the law the last I heard..... You won't believe this but I emailed a Ebay seller last week & asked him to call me as I wanted to place a large order, he refused to call me, said he didn't want to do sell to me (never stated why, obviously selling on ebay is a hobby for him) & then blocked me from placing bids on his items even though I had bought from his in the past. A real Ebay Einstein!!

    TERMS OF SALE

I accept the following forms of payment

    Paypal ...........Personal checks....... Money Orders,.....

Payment due within 7 days of close of auction or I reserve right to cancel auction without notice

I leave feedback for all winning bidders & I would greatly appreciate it if you could do the same for me.....This is the way we on Ebay keep track of the good from the bad

Thanks for looking & good luck
