Dale Long Auotgraphed Pic from 1956

I was cleaning up and I found a 1956 postcard with Dale Long's picture and he autographed it on the front. It's in very good condition. The postmark came from North Adams, MASS. It still has the cancelled 2 cent stamp on it and my wife's maiden name. Anybody no anything aboue these?

Thanks,
eddye mack

I have something similar from Red Schoendienst. I is a postcard with an address, a postmark from 1954, and a 2 cent stamp. It has a real autograph on the front.

Long died in 1991 and is most known for hitting 8 HRs in 8 games consecutive games which set a record since tied by Mattingly and Griffey.

He was a prolific signer through the mail throughout his life and often included his own signed pictures with requests so his autograph is by no means rare, but a nice vintage item like what you have, assuming no postmarks on the picture side and a nice clean readable signature would probably be valued in the the $25-35 range.

  • Thank you Moose Dog for your kind info. Have a good day.

Wasn't 1956 the year he hit those HR's in 8 games in a row? He held on to that record for over 30 years and he still is in a tie with the others. Nice item!!

  • I believe that it was in 1960.
