I'm probably not going to open the '80 Rack, and I'm just going to open one of the '77 OPC packs.

The rest are gonna be ripped.

I'll post results when I rip 'em! I'm gonna let the g/f rip an '85 Donruss rack tonight. Come on Clemens....image

  • Looks like Christmas morning.

I've got a few 80's vending boxes coming, a few assorted packs (87/88 Fleer basketball) and a 90/91 OPC Premier hockey box coming. Christmas in September...

Ugh....ripped the 2 '85 Donruss racks, and the '83 Topps rack.

    Almost nothing.

'83 Topps Rose, '85 Donruss Sandberg, '85 Donruss Mattingly. All looks flawless, but still....very weak rips. image

Hard to gauge if you're only opening one or two racks from a given year.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

Just ripped the two '82 Topps packs.

Pulled a really nice Schmidt and a Jim Palmer. That's about it.

Hope it gets better. Maybe a Clemens from the '85 Fleer packs...that'd be nice.

No, all that's left is the '80 Topps rack and the two '77 OPC wax packs.

Didn't get hardly anything out of the '85 Fleer. I had really bad luck with this lot.

I'm going to open one of the two OPC packs soon.

  • bad luck? your only opening one or two packs of each year; thats a poor statistical representation; you'd have to open BOXES of them to get a better idea.

Rather, you'd have had tremendous luck if your limited sample rips had yielded big cards. I love the '85 Donruss Mattingly - a great card.

Like with me for instance, I had a nice box on the '83 Topps Michigan rip - one each of Sandberg, Gwynn and Boggs. But the Boggs was OC, and the other two - arrghh - were dinged corners. Otherwise sweet centering. Personally, I'll not buy a Michigan box again, many of the cards had corner issues. Which is no slight against Steve at all, it's the nature of those packs, I think. If I buy '83 T again, it'll be wax all the way!!! image

I've done that. I've typically had RIDICULOUSLY good luck (literally probably the last 8-10 times I've bought 2-3 packs) over the last year. I didn't want to buy a box right now.

I just figured I'd get the streak alive, and get a few good pulls.
