Question about listing something on Ebay

I just listed a PSA 10 Lou Whitaker RC. In the last two months, two of the same cards have sold for 480 and 520. Way over SMR. Should I state that in the info in the listing? Based on your experiences or observations, would listing that information help or hinder receiving a higher price for the card?
I collect PSA graded 1980-81 Basketball.

Successful transactions with bouwob, lifeshouldbefun, SDSportsFan, Bkritz, tsalems1, kwtoz, johnny1976, Topps29, Calaban7, nascar20, bking, bedellsonics, Beck6, Dialj, Echocanyon, mdkuom, gosteelers, artimus.

Just my opinion would have at least put it in the context of the description. Most buyers looking at this card will probably know this already and are setting snipes to pursue this nice card. By the way, this is a sweet card!

  • I would absolutely put it in the listing. Even better, if you can add a link from those auctions into your listing, that would be even better

Sometimes I mention previous sells and sometimes I do not. I say go ahead and mention it, but I doubt yours will go as high, but will be in the same ballpark. Then again its ebay so you never know.
  • Thanks all. I added the information within the description.

  • NEVER mention what past auctions have closed for in your eBay listings. You shot yourself in the foot! I tried this on a couple of different occasions and never got even close to what the other completed auctions brought. Every buyer on eBay has one goal - to get the item at the lowest possible price and to get it cheaper than the other guy paid. So, if you mention what other auctions have closed for, then any potential bidder is not going to bid that that amount (or probably not even close to that amount) because they want to get it cheaper than what the other guy bought it for. That's just my two cents worth.
