Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

    OK Rube - here's what I see:

    1 - John Sain
    2- Glenn Hubbard
3 - ? maybe Paul Abbott, but the last name looks like Oberkfell, as in Ken, but the first name doesn't look right
    4 - Rod Gilbreath
    5 - Lou Burdette
    6 - Rick Mahler
7 - Darrell Chaney, Ralph Garr
8 - ? not sure but vaguely looks like Biff Pocoroba EDIT: From your Brewers bat with Reds autos - this is Bobby Wine
    9 - Doug Flynn
    10 - Darrell Chaney
    11 - Pat Jarvis
    12 - Larry Jaster
    13 - Tom Paciorek
14 - Ernie Johnson, Pete van Wieren (announcers - Ernie played MLB)
    15 - Rick Camp
    16 - Bruce Dal Canton
    17 - John Sain again

There's one that looks like "Carter" next to Paciorek. Gimme a better look at that one...

The Rick Mahler is authentic. I had him sign a ball at a game, and it looks exactly like that one.

Don't tell me that there is such a thing as a non-authentic Rick Mahler autograph?? image

Most of those guys are from the mid to late 70's Braves teams. Even the older guys like Burdette and Sain were coaches with the organization then. Van Wieren started broadcasting for the team in '76. The bat looks a bit newer than that, (although it could simply be well preserved.)

If I was forced to guess I'd say someone got it at a Braves fantasy camp or some sort of team reunion. It has to be at least a few years old because of the inclusion of the late Rick Mahler. Sain and Burdette are more recent deaths.

    Whatever it's story, it's a nice item.

The bat iteself is from 1983-97 era. Most likely 1986-89ish but could be later than that.
