do you all think if you contacted topps you could get some sort of replacement? I mean the cards were numbered so how would they go about handling this issue?
That's a good question, I've never had to have an individually numbered card replaced...maybe have you send it in and just slap an Ortiz auto over top of the Howard? Or give you a completely new card, I'd bet they have at least one of the card in stock. Although, they may not do anything at all.
WHy contact Topps for replacement?? rarer in this condition. Wonder if the other 31 /32 are just the same? >>
It is more rare, but I don't think you'll find many people who are impressed enough to shell out 5 Gs. I don't see it holding that kind of value. There was a Ken Griffey Jr./Frank Thomas dual auto that was mistakenly labeled with the Original Mets Frank Thomas' autographs...that was kind of cool to me.

<< <i>Wow...how did they miss that when it was being signed??? >>
The players sign a bunch of holofoil stickers...then the company slaps them on whatever they want as a "autographed" card...

Maybe they'll send you the proper sticker that you can affix over the error sticker yourself.
