Question: PSA Turnaround Time Not Met

On July 6, PSA acknowledged that they had received the 25 cards I had submitted under the July Monthly Special. It has now been 51 days and the PSA Submission Status for the cards is still "No Date Specified."

Isn't the turnaround time for the monthly specials supposed to be 45 days? I do realize that the PSA site states "Guarantees are invalid during the weeks of major card shows PSA attends." However, the PSA Shows section of the Web site lists no shows.

I guess this raises two more questions:
1) Why bother with a guarantee if you've got a convenient loophole not to honor it?
2) If PSA prides itself on being the #1 professional grading service, why can't they hire and train more staff so that the turnaround time on the less expensive services (like bulk) is 30 days or less?

I'm still learning the ins and outs of PSA, so perhaps there are answers to my concerns that I just don't realize. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

There is no set limit for monthly special submissions, to my knowledge. Turnaround varies with demand is how they phrase it.

  • Psa is "King" and the "King" does as they please, it's frustrating I know I have cards still in from the June special (19) and like i said before although friendly they could careless. Don't let it bug you too much cause it appears no change is coming. Good Luck

  • There are people still waiting on their June specials. Monthly specials have no guaranteed turnaround times.

also when you submit under guaranteed turnaround times it's work days, not calendar days, and if psa has graders at any shows that makes for some more days that don't count.

I say you call Joe direct. Let him know your not happy and plan to file a grievance with the Better Business Bureau. That should take care of it.

It's good to be the king! Honestly it hasn't even been 30 business days with the national right? Someone count??
  • I count 32 I took away 4 days for the National, does not matter though there is no guarantee.
  • I'd be happy if i knew how they counted, do they count off the whole week for nationals? Joe stated on the boards a few weeks back that not all graders are at the show, so do those days count? With national's 44 days for me so i can't complain til monday.(ha)
