Could be but not easily provable. It may be possible the seller in NJ has a set and just stole the pics from the other seller. The first seller would have to report them to Ebay for pic theft

Many pick collectors would say the same thing about paying $25,000 for a 1 cent baseball card. The last time the John Mayer pick sold it sold for $80 on its own. I've only seen the Pino Pallidino pick once ($47) and never have I seen a Steve Jordon pick sell. They're much akin to a sport collector purchasing game used equipment, as these 3 picks were only produced to be handed out by John Mayer and his crew. Too rich for my blood, but there is definitely a market.

As for who John Mayer is, probably the best blues guitarist of my generation, BB King says he's the best he's ever seen, and he's been tagged Slow Hand Jr., in comparison to Eric Clapton.

As for Polar Express, I don't know, but he and James Taylor did some music for the movie Cars.

My point is that picks are like beanie babies, 1 of 1 cards which have no other value than to be the 50th 1 of 1 of a set etc.
I cant picture Hendrix, Roy Buchanan, etc, handing out picks with thier face on it.
The only thing you would find on thier picks would be the word Fender....

I understand, it comes down to the kind of items a person is into collecting. Most of the concert used picks I've obtained in person are Dunlap picks with some version of the artist's name on them. Other times they're odd promo items. Rarely have I gotten standard issue picks. While it may be a surprise, it has been the custom of many artists, including Hendrix, to use monogrammed and facsimile signed picks for concert purposes. They're into marketing as much as anyone else.

B.B King has been noted as saying that about many blue guitarist. He said that in the early 90s about Kenny Wayne Sheppard. In the late 90s it was Wes Jeans.

As for him being a boob, yeah, he's the typical dork with something to prove, but I'd love to play guitar like he does.
