BIN whiner

You gotta read this thread on Topps board. Seller whined because someone bid and it erased his BIN. Seller responded about ebay "courtesy". Another seller jumped in and agreed it not "fair" . Boo hoo. Set a higher minimum.

That's hilarious. I looked to see if he had any other big BIN's I could bust up, but sadly he did not.

Goot, when you put a buy it now on one of your auctions, the buy it now goes away once the item gets a bid. Basically, this guy's pissed off because someone is placing a low bid on his item which removes his high buy it now. He's basically too cheap to place a higher starting bid on it (higher listing fees).
  • Alright, I understand now. Thanks.

Is there a way to keep the BIN on an auction even though there have been bids placed on the item?? I thought I have seen auctions that have had bids and there still was a BIN button on the auction??

sound like anut to me, why not just put it on reg auction then and a reserve price if thats wacked out about it,oh i forgot ,hes too cheap! lol

no more buy it nows lee?,i was gona do that,we could be on the topps whiner board too

I'm pretty sure you can add a reserve to a BIN for an additional fee. But the default is no reserve so the BIN is removed as soon as a bid is placed.

I see where he has two auctions running with BIN on them. One for a Hextall Auto ($9.99 BIN - min bid .99) and another with a $4.99 BIN and a min bid .99. To me putting a BIN on a $4.99 auction doesnt make sense at all since you can list it at a minimum bid of $4.99 for the same price I believe. No wonder this guy's an idiot.
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

I have sold a few things within the past couple of weeks where the BIN has stayed up for the whole auction, even though there are bids AND I did not set a reserve. I like it and just assumed this was a new function of ebay's. I didn't change any settings to get this; it just started working like this?

    Has anyone else seen this?

Link for one of my auctions where BIN stayed the whole time, even with bids and no reserve

I set a reserve on my lot and also put a buy it now. The buy it now cost me $38.01 alone but I felt it was necessary for a big lot investment..........

I think the seller is missing the fact that just because a 99 cent bid shows up doesn't mean the bidder is a low baller. If the starting bid is 99 cents and the guy bids $100, the bid is going to show up as 99 cents until someone else bids.

Is the seller saying that the etiquette is to not bid at all for some "time period"? That's preposterous.

no wonder sellers and bidders are at each others throats all the time on ebay if this is the crap people are doing.

There've been plenty of times when I've seen someone kill the BIN, and then have the card ultimately go for more than the BIN was in the first place.

yeah,he dont make alot of sense to me lol, if hes that cheap, put a reserve on it,raise the price, ive never heard of a nut that sells card, not to sell cards lol -i thought that was the point ,to have bidders, maybe he just likes to pay fees,to each his own i guess

Short while back I had a BIN for $15 and guy bid the min and it ended up going to him for around $30. Because he wanted to save $5 he spent $15 more. It happens. Felt kinda bad for him. Then it went away as I spent his $$ on cheap wine and women. (in my mind)

what did he think was going to happen???

collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.

looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started

  • Whats funny is he said he starts it low to give people a chance. Uh, but you dont want them to win? Only the high bidders? Man, if only we could walk around with guns like the western days. Oh , wait...

I think he thought this... People would see the .99 auction and bid it up to $317.00 so he could move out of his Moms basement as he's been sheltered from the real world for way too long.

Im being to mean. Its not his fault. Its you mean biddes who didnt folow ebay courtesy rules.

For those who dont know, they are...

    EBAYS UNWRITTEN COURTESY RULES

    1. Never snipe. Its just plain mean, unfair and hurts peoples feelings.

    2. Please ask other bidders before you bid if they really want the item.

    3. If a item sells for too low the seller may tack on a "its too low" fee

    4. When leaving feebback using a A+ and symbols are really neat. Fun/colorful adjectives are always appretiated.

    5. If you are the only bidder please use a alt acct. or get your buddy to bid to raise the price as no item should sell for its starting price. Thats just not fair.

    6. After each completed auction if both buyer and seller are happy, they should internet *hug* aka leave positive feedback. If none is left you have the right to whine and email until the other person gives in.

Theres more but all this stuff is making my eyes water. Time to get back to work. I need to go yell at someone. *off in distance in best MK Scorpion voice* "Hey you, come here"
