N9 Flags of All Nations

I am thinking about starting an N9 set. Can someone give me an idea as to how expensive the cards in this set are? Are there any cards in the set that are tougher than others? Thanks for any help you can give me.

N9s are getting tougher, depending on what condition you want to collect. It is probably the flagship (no pun intended) set of all the various flag issues and there are some scarce cards. Roumania is a very scarce card, (one of the toughest N cards); Corea a little less so, (neither of these cards are listed on the checklist) and there are also about 8 or 9 "fancy" cards that duplicate cards that were issued with a fairly simple design. There are two Great Britain "rising sun" cards, one thought to be more scarce than the other, but I'm not so sure. "Pontifical States" appears to be a duplicated card also.

Thanks for the info. Is there a web site or a book that would give me more information about the scarcity or variations to the cards along with an approximate price?

  • One of the best books on tobacco cards is "American Tobacco Cards" by Forbes & Mitchell. I got mine on
    E-Bay for about $30.

The ATC is a good place to begin; although that particular reference cites the Great Britain card rarity, which just isn't true.

Pricing, mid-summer 2007, is a bit tougher. There isn't a guide out there that reflects the current market on N cards. They are basically going through the roof with no sign of slowing down.
