Heil Hitler card

I came across this card which shows Hitler on the front and reads Heil Hitler, Germany August 11 1939. And on the back of the card it reads #2 War Bulletin
British War Office
HITLER DENOUNCES POLAND IN FIERY SPEECH

And then it has a couple of paragraphs about what he said. On the bottom of the card it has:
P.C.G.C. United Press International Photo Printed in U.S.A.

Any information on this would be appreciated.

It might be a Horrors of war card?
  • Possibly, was that a series of wartime cards?

If you scan it, there would be a great chance someone could identify it for you very quickly.

I would also try posting this on the "non-sports card forum" to get more responses.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

I think what you have is a "1938 Horrors of War" card, check out any non-sports price guid and it would be in it for sure. Also the Non Sports forum is a smart move as stated
  • I looked on Ebay and they have some Horror of War cards listed. The card that I have is not in the same format as those. Most of the Horror of War cards are in color, this one is black and white. Also the one that I have has the same dimensions as a baseball card whereas the Horrors of War seem to be square rather than rectangle. I'll try to get a picture and post. Thanks for your input.

Post it on the Net 54 nonsports board, with or without a scan, and you'll have a full history of the issue within the hour.

  • Hi

-You have a War Bulletin card produced by Philadelphia Gum in 1965. A single card is worth $3-5.00 and the set is worth a couple of hundred dollars. A premium is usually charged for the card showing Hitler.
