The last few times I've been to Hollywood Park, is mostly for nostalgia, you better grab it while it lasts.
I don't think Naxcom has ever seen $2,000 in cash, much less $200,000.
Does anyone remember any big deals going down at the show? Or big walk in material?
All I can think of is the guy that had a big run of vintage wax a few years ago, he had a run of 50's packs. Asking six figures for all of it. I think, $100 k, $120k?
Cat - Probably the easiest directions I can offer would be: Coming from O.C. is to take the 405 North, exit Century, go right (East), then about 1 or 2 miles you will see the Race Track on the left.
This one might've been a new low. There was actually 2 tables selling jewellery. A giant minor league mascot was walking thru the show, and was definitely symbolic- this show has become very minor league. Half of the front tables were only showing items for upcoming auctions- it would seem like the really nice stuff doesn't get offered for sale, but goes in auctions. The PSA table seemed slow relative to previous shows, and if you were coming for autographs it was mostly local former semi stars- Russell, Cey, etc. Gordie Howe was there, but other than that no HOFers. Rumour is this show is relocating to a new center in Ontario, which should take it out of its misery.
Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
