1952 TOPPS IN WAX PACK ? POSSIBLE MANTLE

link

Okay, I'm sure this is a legit seller, and this is a legit product.

But who would actually buy these things? Seems like a high price for a bunch of 1989 Donruss packs, etc.

Has anyone actually opened any of this stuff?

in my opinion, its a bunch of bull. the only way they can be sure that a 1952 topps pack is actually a high number pack, is to have a complete box and open a pack and see it for yourself. there was no way to tell which series was which from the wrappers so they cant really know if its high series or not. but even if it is a random 1952 topps pack, great, what are the odds of actually getting that pack? 1 in 50 million? probably about the same odds as hitting the lottery.

Either it is a shill bid, or the bidder absolutley has no idea what that box is. That is a Tri Star Hidden Treasures box that can be bought at WalMart for $19.95. It is absolutely junk.

  • The auction is for a lot of 10...not that far off from retail, pretty normal auction.

this product had alot of people fooled in the beginning. i saw alot of boxes closing anywhere between $30 - $200 at the same time.
  • I have opened 4 boxes of it and pulled a 1979 Topps pack, 1981 Fleer and an 84 Topps pack. Most of the packs though were junk, but did pull some star cards that may go into the next 5.00 special or my next bulk modern submission as fillers.

I can't believe that anyone still buys that. I opened one box about 4 years ago when I was on the road in a hotel, nothnig to do and bored to death. It's the only product I ever threw in the trash 2 minutes after I opened it. Complete trash.
