Good Afternoon, Just checked my E-Bay, looks legit to me, they still do this every once in awhile. Good only on stuff with starting price up to $9.99. Neil
Actually Collect Non Sport, but am just so full of myself I post all over the place !!!!!!!
"I got an email saying so, but I don't see it in my messages."
If you do not see them in my messages they are not from eBay.
"Only time they ever had them before was a day or 2 after Christmas."
There has been many that had nothing to do with Christmas. Such as the ones that were make-ups for when the system goes down.
Who knows when the next will be but historically it seems about once every six months....with less the last two years.
In a somewhat related note. A free listing day and a quote from me in Tuff Stuff might have been the reason why eBay stopped showing us the current number of auctions. I was quoted in Tuff Stuff how the number went up and that auctions got less bids, how I had sold stuff for less money and purchased things real cheap that week. Right after the Tuff Stuff came out, eBay stopped showing the current auction number. Can't remember which issue it was, but it had Manning on the cover and it was several years ago.

Checked all 4 of my Ebay accounts and all their related emails and nothing from Ebay about it.
Nothing on Ebay discussion boards about it.. I am betting it is a phishing email.. Were there any links in the email?
I found it..
Free listing if you list for under 9.99 AND purchase Gallery.

i got it too,i got 2,000 buy it nows on gallert now, dont need any more 35 cent ones to add to my confusion, leisa right, around christmas you get free listings
Anytime they have a listing special you have to read the fine print. Considering I start 95% of all my items at less than 99 cents these specials rarely affect me this one does nothing for me.
Speaking of ebay listing specials , does anyone know if they are ever going to run anymore cheap general listing days? It's been months since they have had any. I like to use them to relist unsold stuff and risky stuff that I don't know if there is a demand for.
ebay might lose a buck lol-imagine that, they are cheap anymore,we ought to mob greedy meg, fees are rediculous with ebay and paypal i started it was 20 cents for a 9.99 auction and 3 cents buy it now i believe
