Coolest autograph you have in your collection...

For me it would have to be an autographed picture of Bart Starr from 1965 that was signed to my dad when he was 8 years old. He signed it "Dear Drew, thanks for being my friend, Bart Starr". I think that is pretty neat. Ill try to get a pic up later. Anyone else have any unique/favorite autographs like this one?

Casey St James is my favorite though. When I got it she said I am going to write the dirtiest thing I can think of and was blushing as she did it.

<< <i>I posted this before. A handwritten letter by Willis Hudlin from 1997, about his giving up Babe Ruth's 500th career homer back in 1929. >>
Hudlin was fairly old when her wrote this letter to me, so a transcription for his scrawl:
"The Babe had his good years about the same time I had mine. Yes, he hit his 500 HR off me 8/11/29 in Cleveland. It was a sinker ball that he hit. The Babe did not have much luck vs. me - in 9 yrs he only got a total of 5 HR's off of me.
With all good wishes,
Willis Hudlin"
<< <i>I have a very unique one................ever see a sandle signed? Let alone "game" used? Well I have one.....it's a Carlos Guillen "game" worn 2007 shower sandle, signed and inscribed with "game used 2007".
>>
How can a shower sandle be game used?
Plus the one in my signature

I posted it before, but here it is:
I think my most expensive would be my Mantle signed litho, and my most sentimental my Stan Musial that me and my dad got in person about 15 years ago.

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

It depends what "games" they play in the shower
The next one that I want to mention (actually 3 that go together) is a Monty Stratton index card, James Stewart index card, and June Allyson index card. For those of you that have never seen the 1941 movie called "The Stratton Story", I think it is a "must see" for a baseball fan. It has been one of my favorite movies since I was a kid. It is based on the true story of Monty Stratton. He was a pitcher in the 1930's for the White Sox. He was a very good pitcher who pitched for a few years and then lost his leg in a hunting accident. He made a minor league comeback with a prosthetic leg. The movie starred Jimmy Stewart and June Allyson. I plan on getting some sort of photograph of movie poster and having it along with the index cards framed. I just haven't done it yet.

And this one. Pic is stock. Mine is #d 10/55 made real by UDA.
My families 1st Dodger game and Russ Martins 1st MLB HR. Signed and dated 1st HR 5/7/06.
Rizzuto pretty good about his recording career. I had recently picked up a 78 rpm recording of
Mel Allen doing “Casey at the Bat” and on the other side was a recording of Phil Rizzuto,
Roy Campenella ,Tony Lazzari, and Ralph Branca ? doing a song called “The Umpire”. I wrote
to WPIX explaining what I had, offering to make a tape of it and send it to them figuring it would
make , if nothing else, good radio. I sent along a letter sized SASE . I received this photo with no
note.

It may not be the coolest , but today it is my favorite

Ted was grumpy and annoyed (his usual card show demeanor) and was taking stuff signing it, and literally shoving it off the table, bouncing the balls right back at the people. Folks were very sheepish and didnt say a peep to him.
Fortunately I had a plan
When Bernie found out that I was going to the card show he said if you want Ted to talk to you just say "Bernie Cassidy says Hello!"
So... thats what I did. don't ya know Ted stopped signing, grinned from ear to ear and started chatting away with my cousin and I. "So how do you know bernie? How's Terry (his wife)? Swear to God we chatted for 10-15 minutes. He even took the time to admire the other signatures on the ball and remarked that Yaz took the best spot. When we left the autograph line folks were buzzing asking us "how in gods name did you get him to talk??"
Definitely the highlight of my autograph hunting (at card shows at least)

<< <i>I still need Bobby Orr to sign this great photo of the aftermath of a fight with the Canadiens in the early 70's. Most of the other Bruins have signed - Bucyk, Cashman, EJ. Like to get Espo, Marcotte & Hodgey too. >>
kick ass piece, no pun intended.
