I really dont like sellers that wont combine shipping just...UPDATE

because in their own opinion I won his cards too cheap. I won 2 cards. A psa 10 Aikman and an Emmitt psa 9.

Email from the seller when asked what shipping would be;

<< <i>No combined shipping. You practically stole the card anyway. >>

How lame is that?

That stinks, come on you know he is going to package them in one bubble mailer. To bad for him that you got a deal, it happens as a seller.
  • If you're going to pay shipping on 2 separate items, then I would pay for them separately - especially if you use PayPal. That way he's charged fees on both transactions. You also need make sure that he sends them in separate packages - cost him more money to ship since he's being a jerk.

    image Fine idea!

    I will do that image
  • When that happens to me, I make sure that I make two separate payments. And I insist that they be packaged and mailed separately, since that is what I am paying for. Doesn't always work - but it makes my point.
  • Good idea on the separate payments, and insist that he mail them separately, no combined charges, no combined shipping.

  • Pay for one w/ Paypal and send a money order for the 2nd. Make the shipping address on the 2nd card to a friend or relatives house and force the bozo to make 2 shipments.
    Very lame indeed!!

I might understand if they were .50 cards or something but both combined were $26 and change. Not expensive but come on.

    he sucks!!!!

that's piss poor!!! i hate that too, it's not your fault you got a deal, he should have listed them higher then, that's what you get when you have a low opening bid on ebay. i onced sold a cal ripken book and didn't really know what the shipping would be so i guessed, i had to add money to the item to ship it, i sodl the book and lost money just to get it there for the buyer. i will not buy mulitple lots from a seller who does not combine shipping, it just ain't right!!!

go with the seperate shipping for seperate payments

You may also want to pay for one now and wait to the end of his stated payment due for the other. Just stay within the rules that he stated in his auctions. That way he has to send separate (and higher costs) or you can ding him for slow shipping.

"Stole" is bad response on his part. Tell him he should have been mad at the millions of EBay users who did not bid on his valuable card, not you who did bid.

    Hope it all works out.

i like yankee's idea. pay for one paypal and see if he ships it. if not, ask why. then pay for the other one after you get the first one.

    Thanks,

how much is shippng going to be?supposedly!,i hate it when you pay 5.00 for shipping and it cost them 1.50 to mail em, if you paid more than 4.60, tell the guy he best be sending them pri mail and not $ 1.50 1st class- a story for you matt- once i got a ticket in a speed trap town here ravenswood(hicksville) wv right out in front of a card shop for parking the wrong way, was only 10.00-so i drove home, went to the bank, got $10.00 in pennies, busted em out of rolls, and sent em in with the ticket addressed to the cop that gave it to me,hope he had fun!maybe you can do the same, tell him you had to cash in your penny collection

I was in the same situation awhile back and the seller responded on here if I remember correctly. I paid separately, he shipped them in the same package anyway, but eventually refunded me $3 of the shipping, which was $11 for two PSA cards, all of this despite me asking that he ship them separately.

I would pay separately anyway and request they be shipped separately as others said. Or pay via paypal for one, and if he accepts, mail a personal check for the other.

When I am in this quandry, I always ask myself.. .WWJC?

That's right... What Would Jesus Charge.... If you can honestly answer that question to yourself then you have seen the light.

Some jerk offered combined shipping and I won about 10 cards from him. He charged $3.50 shipping and was unhappy with the selling price so he sent me an invoice that explained, "combined shipping $3.50 for the first item, $3.49 for each additional."
  • Listen, send the 2 PayPal payments for 2 seperate transactions. Tell him to send them both seperate with delivery confirmation. Each transaction is protected on PayPal if there is tracking......he has to prove to paypal that he sent them both seperately with 2 delivery confirmation numbers if there are any "claims".....catch my drift? He can't get out of it if you do it this way, or he's subjective to send you a free card if you file a claim with PayPal.....after all, you "stole" it anyway, didn't you?

tell him judas was the treasurer of the apostles, sounds like your id should be faithful4judas,and if he rips you on shipping, you're gonna call fire down from heaven and burn up all his cards! and that you are the pope of the church of emmitt, therefore there you are a nonprofit org and get all emmits for free no matter what,or just tell him to kiss yur azz lol, thats always easier, still think pennies is the way to go,funny stuff, people love it,33.00 in pennies

What fires me up is 4 Sharp Corners

    You have 4 Sharp corners
    4 Sharp corners baseball
    4 Sharp corners Basketball
    so on and so fourth.

Why cant they make it easy. And I might add they have some higher shipping fees for single cards.

This is what I do when this happens. Two tranactions with two requirred delivery receipts. Has never failed when I file a complaint saying I did not get the other item. I get a partial refund and I am happy. Only happened twice to me though.

that's crazy. I lose money (cause I'm an idiot and don't charge enough) on everything I ship and still combine shipping. Been charging $3.00 for priority mail in bubble wrappers and everything costs me $4.60.
Sent out 5 things that way today. I gotta learn how to be more of an ass

i had the same situation. in the auction it said payment must be made in 7 days.

i sent the 1st payment day one. and told him i would send 2nd payment in 7 days

and he advertised fast shipping and i told him a week after payment would no be tolerated.

he agreed to ship both cards together at no extra charge. i told him thanks but no thanks.

he sent both cards together before he received payment for the second auction. i paid him on the 7th day

Hmmm, So I just transferred all my paypal funds to my bank account so I could use my credit card and I noticed the seller did combine after all.

Shipping on the invoice was $3.00 instead of $6.00. Maybe he read the thread image

I feel bad about him incurring credit card fees now...............well not really image
  • He still has to pay the same fees regardless of if a CC is used or not

<< <i>He still has to pay the same fees regardless of if a CC is used or not >>

No extra fees? Darn, for some reason I always thought that if a credit card was used an extra fee was imposed? Was it ever like that?

  • International payments are charged differently, but payments in the US are charged the same
  • lawnmowermanlawnmowerman Posts: 19,477 ✭✭✭✭
I think I was under that assumption based on seeing some sellers in the past stating NO CREDIT CARDS THROUGH PAYPAL, in their auctions. Which of course is a no no.

Now I realize they most likely did that to try an avoid chargeback situations
  • They are either still trying to get away with not using a business account or have 2 seperate accounts for Ebay one premier and one personal which using both for Ebay is a no-no as well.

The Paypal CC rule has only been in effect on Ebay for just over a year so if it was in the past.

Well I thought the seller had a change of heart and combined the shipping. WRONG image I just got this email after I paid the invoice he sent me:

    << <i>
I am still waiting for the $3.00 shipping on the other card. I did not mention combined shipping in my auctions, therefore, I do not offer discounted shipping. If you are unhappy with that, I will refund your money right now. As soon as I recieve the $3.00 I will ship your cards. Thank you. >>

Not only is he a lousy seller, he does not even know what he doing. He sent me the invoice with shipping marked as $3.00 not $6.00 as he told me it would be previously.

Is he now obligated to ship the cards because I paid the invoice he sent? Or should I just pay the extra $3.00 and neg him?

This guy is an a-hole. If it were me, I'd just get a refund because of his tone and stupidity. Being that it's emmitt, you'll pay the extra $3 and bend over LOL.

You know you're gonna bend over Matt. Take it like a man and move on. He needs the $3 more than you do. You may want to request that he sends it in two different orders, but doubtful it will happen. If he doesn't send it with DC, well......you make the call image

  • << <i>Is he now obligated to ship the cards because I paid the invoice he sent? Or should I just pay the extra $3.00 and neg him? >>

It is just my opinion, but since you paid from the invoice that he sent and he has obviously not sent the cards yet, I would go ahead and file an INR on him and then immediately escalate it to a claim. In your response you could state that you paid from the invoice and now the seller is trying to extort more money from you. What's it going to accomplish? Nothing really. It will just give him more headaches and PayPal will freeze his account for those funds for a few days. Then you can neg him!

Okay, but I only bring that out on special occasions. I would be happy to lend it to you if you would just stay away from that dog poop image

If its under 50.00 Paypal will not freeze the amount. I got one for 47 right now Paypal has not frozen anything.
