Need advice on shipping a complete set

I am shipping a complete set of 2007 Allen and Ginter (350 base + 30 thick perez). Could someone give me some advice on the best and most economical way to pack and ship it?

I was thinking of penny sleeves for every card then packing those in a card box and then packing that in another box. All the while making sure nothing can move around during shipment. But, this also is going to take some time and plenty of supplies.

Certainly putting each card in a penny saver is a nice touch but not necessary, but putting them in a card box and then inside another box to ship is.

I do not actually go out and buy "supplies" rather reuse old supplies, like peanuts, old newspapers, cardboard and old boxes.

plastic bags from grocery stores work great for padding stuff up too, id put it in a reg box, then pad it up inside of one big square pri mail boxes-i dont know the box number offhand-thats how i send out small box sets, the pri box is 12x12 square and 8 tall

This method seems to work for me. Put the cards in a storage box larger than what you need (500ct in your case). At each end cut a piece of soft foam from any packing material you might have around (do NOT use styrofoam). Put the foam at each end of the set and fill in with more foam, or newspaper, or anything dense enough to place enough pressure so the cards don't move around.

Place this box in a larger sturdy box with a healthy amount of packing peanuts or bubble wrap all around.

Tape well and you should be all good.

Here's how I do it (I only collect and occassionally sell sets):

    1. Be sure the cards in the box cannot move around (snug but not tight). It's also a good idea to have a few "dummy cards" on each end of the set so as the first and last cards of the set don't get damaged.
    2. Put the set box inside the shipping box with plenty of packing peanuts (or bubble wrap in a pinch) on all six sides of the set box. If done correctly, the set box should not be able to move inside the packaging box.

What can I say? Cards are fragile and must be shipped as such; otherwise they may arrive with those dreaded dinged corners or worse. image

I always charge $8.10 for USPS Priority Flat Rate and ship them in the flat rate Priority box. I also offer an incentive to buy up to 3 sets because I can fit 3 800 ct boxes in a flat rate box and will just charge $8.10 (or whatever the flat rate is - it may have went up since I've done that).
