My deal with MurphDawg...

Bought some cards from Matt (MurphDawg) and the cards arrived in the mail yesterday. I was really worried because the package showed up in a plastic bag all taped up by the PO. I didn't see it, my wife got the mail but she told me about it. She said the bag looked like it was soaked and had been in the rain or something so I was worried the water would have gotten into the PSA slabs or worse yet, bag had torn open and the cards had fallen out. As it turns out though someone must have shipped some maple syrup or something and it busted open. She said the package was covered in this sticky stuff and that it reeked like syrup. She threw the package away before I got home so I couldn't take a pic but the cards were packed terrific and got no damage at all. So kudos to Matt !!

Just wanted to share my experience with Matt and this odd one with the post office. By the way, each card was individually bubble wrapped and stuck in the package, so I think even if it had been in the rain, they still would have been fine. Awesome job and a big thank you!

Anyone else have an odd PO story like that?

Matt seems like a great guy. I have one deal going with him right now and he has been nothing but a class act. I'm really looking forward to getting my 8x10s from him!

  • No crazy PO story, but I have had a couple of great dealings with Matt on some autographed baseballs.
  • I had bought a Stan Musial Bat and some autographed Yankees photos from Matt, he shipped them perfectly and in record time. He even threw in a few extra items.

Yep, I have bought from Matt and it was a smooth deal. My package was covered in honey, I think he uses stuff out of his kitchen cabinet to package cards when he runs out of bubble wrap or peanuts.....j/k.

That made me think of Dane Cook stand up "Want me to rub some honey on your thighs?" "'..I don`t even know what that MEANS. PLEASE go swallow a knife, I hate you."

Matt was such a good guy that he sent some me HOF auto'd balls (without even knowing me) on approval before I sent payment. One of the good guys for sure!!

Matt is a great guy to deal with! Good story envoy.
  • Thanks for the kind comments guys. Everybody that posted was a great member to deal with also. You guys are what makes this board a great place to be a member of.

Now if I can just get some of you guys to buy a few of the signed PSA pieces that I have for sale on the BST forum. Cwazzy just purchased a signed Musial 8x10 and Reese 8X10 image I'm always up for negotiating.

    Thanks again guys!

I just received 25 1957 Topps baseball cards from Matt, all graded PSA 5, 6, and 7 (most are 6 and 7).

I had pretty much figured that Matt would not be sending in cards to receive 5's and 6's (and even 7's), and sure enough all of the cards are very high end for the grade.

And as mentioned by envoy, there's not a better packager around. These cards could have been run over by the mail truck and they would have been fine.

    Thanks MurphDawg!
