Congrats to Glavine! A great pitcher and a stand-up guy! Only the Big Unit is within striking distance of 300 wins now (at 284), and we may never see it done after that...winning 300 games may go the way of the 30-win season.

Congrats to Glavine, a class act all the way.

I'm sure ESPN really wanted Bonds, Arod, and Glavine to get their milestones on one day, but Glavine gets the spotlight tonight.

well deserved accolades for Tommy G. only the 5th Lefty to win 500 games? gonna be the last one for a while, unless Randy J. can recover from his 14th back surgery.

I think Randy Johnson may be about finished as a pitcher. 16 games doesn't sound like a lot but I think at this stage of his career
it may be out of reach. He will probably still make the HOF some day.

When that guy Niekro got his 300th win, a lot of baseball pundits said that was the last 300 game winner. At the time, I was thinking about those 80s stars having at least a chance to get up there. The likes of Clemens, Glavine and Maddux have since reached that milestone with Randy Johnson really close.

unfortunately Randy J. needs to comeback from his 4th? 5th? back surgery. I don't forsee a 300 game winner for a long long time. Mussina maybe, if he pitches for 5 more years; but he's looking OLD these days.
