<< <i>A lot of people predicted this. No big surprise. Of course pay me that kind of money and I'll pitch at the Stadium and boo me all you want. LOL >>
Exactamundo.
Clemens knew what he was getting into and has been there many times before; this isn't even news worthy. Do you even think he's going to lose one second of sleep over this? He, unlike other high-paid whiners, is a professional and has already forgotten about it.
If you think that's bad, you should hear boos at a starter, who will go down as one of the worst trades ever, giving up 11 runs in 2/3rds of an inning.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
I don't think anyone who read this thought Clemens felt bad about this. It was, instead, posted to make light of how Clemens has gone from being the guy who would save the yanks' season to giving up 8 runs in just over an inning and getting booed out of the stadium.
I don't know of many, if any at all, who felt Clemens would be a savior.
They may have pumped it on ESPN as filler but that's about it.
That's the difference between getting insight from shows and experiencing it first hand.
Some get it and some don't.

Visions of Roger with a mic in his hand IN THE BOOTH and mindless back page pics the next day are what the jackels see. They assume all of Yankee land was dancing in the streets because of media coverage. I have no idea what makes these people think that tabloid journalism is the voice of the everyday fan. Stupid.
How stupid is it that ONE LOSS like this and the idiots are out of the woodwork up on their soap box yelling about Yankee fans this and that and bla bla bla friggen bla. If Yankee fans were HALF as bad as these people then we ALL would have been laughing and starting threads about how ridiculous and stupid David Ortiz looked when he took his belly flop the other night or how lame it was for the over-rated Mets to BARF out Glavines 300th win. Did we? No ..... Yankee fans don't create mountains out of what happens in ONE day of a season. This is just so stupid.
Seems a little hard to me. I would love to have Clemens in my bullpen....reminds me of Nolan.

I think the only ones saying that Clemens was any kind of "savior" was ESPN and The New York Post. Even the average fan knows that he was brought in to contribute, not be a savior. So what, Clemens got booed for a bad performance. Clemens has been solid. This will come and go and no one will remember or care. And I completely agree with what Dan says about the Yankee haters....but even moreso, its classic Axhole....who I might add has been fortunate enough to be graced with another chance here. Don't worry...its slowly all coming back. Won't this be a treat.

Woah, this coming from the guy who was saying that Clemens coming back would be what the yankees needed?
From your own post, may 12th:
""Moose looked very good again. Our pitching is straightening itself out and we are now 7-2 in May after the dismal April. Clemens and Hughes on the way. All we have to do is keep the Sox at arms length until the All Star break and then the FUN REALLY BEGINS."
Softy, you yourself posted many, many times in the yankees fan thread about Clemens coming back being a key reason the yanks would be contending.
Who's spinning? It was mentioned (several times) that the only people who positioned Clemens as a key to the season turning around was the media. I posted that simply wasn't the case, yet I'm the one accused of spinning.
Yankee fans booed Clemens off the mound today. You find it so surprising that Yankee fans would do such a thing. So, if even some of them like the signing they can't change their minds? They have to sit there with their hands under their a$$.
Gee Ax, will you change your mind on A-Rod if it comes out that he juices? Huh? You better not. You better not change your mind on anything .....
I'm just glad that Phillies fans always take the high road and never boo their players. We treat each Phillies player with dignity and respect, and even if a player is involved in a horrible slump, we offer kindness and loving support.
When you said (in passing), "Clemens and Hughes on the way", you obviously meant that Clemens was going to be your savior.
There's no denying it, man, because it's right there in black and white. That and he can read your mind, so it's pointless for you to argue what the true intent of your own statement was.

Axtell has his agenda. Its the same now as it was in the past. The only difference is that he dresses up his comments with a bit more benign stuff. Among many things Axtell hates New York. This goes way back. His agenda is ALWAYS knock New York teams or its fans whenever possible. The Yankees have been playing well lately so he resorts to this STUPID and boy do I mean STUPID ..... MINDLESS angle against the fans about how Roger Clemens got booed off the Yankee Stadium mound yesterday. Can you believe that? Yankee fand dared boo Roger Clemens off the mound? Wow! What a surprise and how shocking! Oh those bad horrible fans .... STUPID.
