In 24 years of going to card shops- The best is THE DUGOUT in Gatlinburg, TN

This shop is truly what every shop should look like-
If you are EVER in the Gatlinburg, TN area(Smoky Mountains) you have to see this place.
It has lots of waxs, vintage singles, every rookie card from 80 and up, lots of HIGH END BGS and PSA graded cards,
It is the perfect set up as well. I bet 10-15 showcases stocked full of vintage and rookie cards. I bought (3) 52 topps singles from him.
You pay a little higher than ebay but the guy is knowlegable and works with you. He has everything priced and will work with you on most items.
So much assortment and so many great things about it. He truly has the perfect card shop! If it were ebay prices I swear I spend thousands in there each time I go!
It truly is the best shop overall I have ever been too!
A few of the cards I saw on display- BABE RUTH GOUDEY LEGIT in rough shape
Ted WIlliams 50 bowman, tons of the high dollar modern stuff in the 300-500.00 price range!
I wish every city had a shop like that one!

We go to the mts. every year from Florida. I spend alot of time in that store. The last time I went, I sat there for hours with my laptop checking my emmitt set and looking at every Emmitt card he had. I bought all the potential 9's and 10's and did very well.
The store is clean and organized and the owner ( I think his name is Rick) worked with me on the prices.
I enjoyed it very much and look foward to going back.

I would say it is four to five times as big now- I think he moved in the past six months.
<< <i>I remember going to a shop in Pigeon Forge about 4 years ago, but I can't remember the name of it. It was in a big shopping center with a bunch of different buildings all with a red roof. Was it there? I remember my wife being in the popular store that sells all of the frilly little girls dresses, and me and my son walked across the road to this shop. Is that it? If that's the one, I wasn't to impressed with it then (maybe it's changed now or maybe its a different shop). This shop had everything overpriced and didn't have that great of a selection. He did have few autographed items, though. >>
no that was a dump that I never bought a card from!
it was dirty and overpriced!

That's what I thought. I didn't think that it could be the same one. Where is this one in relation to the "dump".

Hello Heritage. I live in Wichita...and I attended WSU, if that was your college. Rock is a great guy, he closed his shop a couple years back, after like 30-40 years in business, but he still holds his annual show. You might have been around here in the late 80's and early 90's when he use to have guests signing autographs. I remember local boy Barry Sanders came one time. Anyway, the guest would always sign one of his walls...located in the bottom of a bowling alley it was a small shop. I imagine the wall is still covered with signatures.
Made good money buying some of those 8x10's ($5 each mostly HOF'ers) in eBay's early days.
