RIP - Bill Walsh

Just heard on the radio he lost his battle with leukemia.

I did not know that his son also died of leukemia.

Wow, Bill Walsh and Tom Snyder died from leukemia on the same day. Very sad.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Very sad but at the same time just think of the memories his passing made you remember just now.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Walsh was a master of People Management!! I can't relate to Vince Lombardi passing, but this has to be a close 2nd!! A friend of mine Milt McColl ( William McColl of the Bears son) got to play under him for several years. RIP.....

No no, you have got it all wrong. In 4 NFC championship games they split 2-2.

Should have been 3-1 'boys if it wasnt for that Barry Switzer joke of a coach image
  • Definitely a sad day for the NFL and 49ers alike. They better win one for him this year.

I scour numerous NFL autographed sections on eBay daily and, no surprise, there is a glut of Bill Walsh stuff on the market today. Does this bug the heck out of anyone else or is it just me?

I guess looking at it logically, people are just trying to sell when demand peaks, much like someone having a record breaking game or getting inducted into the HOF. Still, I cannot help but think it is in bad taste to (try to) profit from someone's death and it is not something I have done or would do as I think it is disrespectful to the deceased and those mourning.

I am curious as to what everyone else thinks about this practice... what say ye'?

Rest In Peace, Coach, and thank you for all you did for the game and its fans.

Yea, I almost crashed yesterday driving into Brooklyn hearing that on the radio fumbling for the volume button , screamin . . . "shut up shut up , what did they just say , did they just say Bill Walsh passed away "

That was sad news , He was one of my favorites .

    Pure genius . . .
    Rest in Peace coach .
