I go to rummage sales and buy "broken" computers. Fix them up and resell them for many times the money. Laptops are the best way for me to make money. Usually the owner just had a virus or the hard drive failed. I buy the laptop for $25 buy a $45 hard drive and boom. Sell it for $325 on ebay in a two week period.

I also sell my Mother-in-Law's QVC crap she never uses

I used to do the same thing Troy does with computers but I sold outdoor power equipment.

There is a very good market for used equipment.

Mounted Animals (deer heads, wid boar, fish, bobcat, cobra and mongoose), tools, Coal mining decals, turkey calls, nikken magnetic stuff, fishing tackle and aequipment, lots of other stuff I bought at flea markets and yard sales. My mom goes to work and tells people what I sell stuff for and they want me to sell all their crap and think everything is valueable. I have to explain to them that I look at tons of stuff to find the select items that bring good money.

Magic the Gathering cards. I played back in the mid 90s, and the market for these cards is still really strong. Sales from this stuff has been funding my baseball HoF rookie collection.

I think I have about 1750 auctions going. The majority is coins, minerals, fossils, stamps (related items more so then just stamps), meteorites and PSA cards, but I will sell about anything. Sold an eagle nest that fell out of my tree a couple weeks ago. I also do consignment sells for a few museums which helps keep everything running.

I have been selling collectibles for over a decade so I have decently large stock of things.

Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

I sold a few hundred collector cars on ebay over the last few years, too many dreamers and people with unrealistic expectations. You can show a cracked dash, mention a cracked dash, but still people come for the car and are shocked when the dash is cracked. Made a lot of money but the stress was too high for me.

People buying on ebay see with their hearts instead of their eyes, they bid on what they want, not what they are looking at - whether it's cards, coins, glass, cars, or whatever it is.
