$12 PSA 10 Palmeiro rookies, is this Bonds' fate?

I just picked up a PSA 10 1987 Donruss Rafael Palmeiro for $12 dlvd.

Was this card ever hot? It seems that Raffy always flew below the radar, even though he racked up impressive (but juiced) career numbers.

Do you think Bonds' rookie cards will meet a fate such as this in the long run, or will they always carry a premium due to his impact on baseball through he years?

Mark McGwire's 1985 Topps rookie still sells well at $40+ in PSA 9, though he was basically the first to fall once the steroid scandal came to light.

    over time i think he will still command a premium, not as much if he kissed some ass here and there and never had any association w/ BALCO.

    i think he should command a major premium for being in the mix so HARD and not giving a damb about anybody else but himself.

    now that's something his godfather surely looks up to huh?

    no matter what the demand, there is simply an overwhelming supply of Bonds rookies out there. Name any other star rookie for whom it is very easy to buy rookie cards in 100 count lots.
    I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    Wow - I sold a few 1987 Donruss PSA 10 Palmiero rookies a few years ago, and I thought they brought close to $100 each. I am happy I don't have any more of them.

    I'm just waiting for the right time to dump my graded Bonds cards.

    There are 16,018 (and growing) PSA 9 1989 Upper Deck Griffeys out there, with dozens avaliable on Ebay every day, and you will still be hard pressed to find one for less than $45.

    The day the Palmerio steroid story hit I bought a 87 T cello with him on front and back for like $5 ppd. I dint know about the scandal and thought wow what a deal !!

    Palmiero is a mediocre player who accumulated stats over a long period of time, never dominated any statistical category, and failed a drug test.

    Bonds is a 7 time MVP who will soon hold the all-time HR record.

    No, Bonds' cards will never see $12 for a PSA 10.

    Probably right. With luck we'll see $6 for a Bonds PSA 10. If anyone cares at that point.
