I've won two vintage cards from that seller. One of them was a T3 Ed Walsh back in November and it was off center even more than the Groom card you posted. Sent it in to be graded and it came back a 6. Sold it and tripled my money! The other card I won was a raw T206 common and it came back a 7.
I don't think so, i jsut sent in a large amount of t3's to be graded and I am seriously holding my breath. Even with a loupe and ruler it is TOUGH to tell with these things. Aging makes almost all of them look trimmed Also, some could have been trimmed so long ago the corners have now all aged equally. I will make sure to post my grades. As far as that one, I HAD it on my watch list, but it is too much $$$ to throw in the toilet IF trimmed. The borders look fine to me. g/l!
I have that seller on my favorites list. The last T3 they sold was a McBride and it was only listed as EX and went for over 2 grand a couple of months ago, so there doesn't appear to be a lack of confidence by some bidders. I won the Ed Walsh for $1895 and sold it for $6000 after it was graded. Another collector told me that the grandfather of the seller was named Shigley and he appeared in an early Beckett. The guy was supposedly collecting vintage even before Burdick and Carter.
