IF you look at his feedback, you'll see that his other cards had $4.00 shipping, so this appears to be a mistake/typo when he listed this auction.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.
  • He has 3 auctions with 400.00 shipping. I emailed them asking what was up so we'll see. If you read the auction you'll also see that insurance is required if using Paypal with is a Ebay policy violation. It's in the "Sellers Payment Instructions." It reads, "IF YOU USE PAYPAL YOU MUST INSURE." They have some negs on their feedback because of this. One claimed they paid for insurance but didn't get it. But I still don't see how you accidentally enter $400.00 when you meant to enter $4.00 but I guess anythings possible. Also this seller charges $4.00 shipping, for most cards, and doesn't combine shipping. Luckily I only wanted one card from them but they aren't getting any of my money. Another crappy seller that gives us good ones a black eye.

Besides the paypal/insurance demand is the card a 400.00 card? or is it simply a typo?

And if so I can say that i have seen worse sellers.

Actually it is a she and in an email to me she states it was a typo and the shipping is 4.00

But I still don't see how you accidentally enter $400.00 when you meant to enter $4.00

    You can't be serious.

Agreed. An obvious typo, why rake someone over the coals for something like this? Ridiculous.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
  • Its a simple typo type in 400 as shipping on Ebay instead of 4.00 and you will have 400.00 shipping.
  • Anyway, how about the required insurance for Paypal in every auction or was that a typo too? Also I guess it charging $4.00 a card to ship and no combined shipping is acceptable. I'm actually more pissed about that, because the 3 auctions with the $400 shipping really didn't concern me. I've listed quite a few auctions over the past 9 yrs and never entered a 3 digit shipping cost so that's why I was shocked about the shipping. Seriously. You guys apparently just read the post and didn't check out the auction. Must have been too late. image
    This seller:
    1. $400 shipping(mistake has been changed)
    2. No combined shipping(has neg feedback)
    3. Requires insurance on Paypal payment. (has neutral/neg feedback not getting ins for buyer)

Are you serious, then why is it's store called Mikes Autographs then. Do you know the person or are you just going by the Ebay username?

1...............has been proven to be a typo

    2..................so what?

    3....................don't bid then

Yes I looked at the auction.

The email to me was signed by a woman.

    Maybe Mike has a wife?

I just do not see where you are so bent out of shape with this seller. If you do not like his/her terms do not bid on there auctions.

Not sure but i can't find it anywhere on Ebay where requiring<sp> insurance if you use paypal is a transgression. Maybe it is maybe it isn't.

This person requires insurance, many sellers do. This seller does not combine shipping, again not the only seller to do so. lastly this seller makes a typo and yes many have done so.

    Good for you.
  • There are items I sell where I do not combine shipping, look at BigT If you pay with Paypal they do not combine shipping. There are no rules against either of those. No seller has to combine shipping on any item. Now if they said you must add 10% to final price if paying with Paypal then it would be against the rules.

Now if they are requiring insurance and not getting it then that could be against the rules, but there are lots of 3rd party shipping insurance providers that are cheaper and easier to deal with than USPS, no rules against using them either.
