didn't think so since 1969 were tall boys and the pack is standard size cards..but does anybody know what year these are? i was unware of any 1970's o pee chee basketball (if there is any) i wouldn't bid on this auction anyway but i was just curious. a quick search on ebay yeilded no o pee chee basketball at all. but i have seen a 1997 o pee chee tracy mcgrady rc. pop on ebay once, and nothing else since then.
Never heard of OPC making basketball, but I suppose it's possible fater the Raptors and Grizzlies entered the league. Pretty sure they didn't make basketball in the 70s though.
The seller thinks these are from the 69/70 season cuz of the copyrights on the back. The problem though is that they used that up to and including the 76 season if my memory is correct.

ahh that would explain the 1997 mcgrady rc i saw. since he was on the raptors. thanks guys
In 1989, O-pee-Chee released NFL football cards in wax packs in Canada. The wrapper packs were French/English with O-Pee-Chee logos and copyrights, but the cards themselves were simply regular repackaged Topps cards. Could be what happened here. The copyright line here could simply be covering bases by explaining that all Topps cards are distributed in Canada by O-Pee-Chee. It doesn't necessarily mean the pack originated in Canada. But then the government didn't mandate bilingualism until 1970, so the lack of bilingualism on the wrapper could mean its pre-1970, in fact 1969 as the auction claims. But the pack is the same as a 1975 Topps pack, at least on the front.

1969 Bastketball.
A similar sport, but played mainly by orphaned Romanian males involving goat balls and two forked sticks.
Its a rare issue that does not get the attention it deserves.
