What's right with this Board. The Members

Last week I advertised that I was willing to trade some T206's for 50's & 60's football. I received a PM last week on CU from Baseballfan expressing interest in trading a few 55 AA's for a T206. He lives in PA and Jennings grew up 10 miles down the road. Fred has a complete set of 55 AA's and some doubles to trade. He sent me his list of doubles and I expressed interest in a trade for the whole lot, not wanting just a few as my goals are set building. He was just interested in HOFer's from the set as he isn't going to build the Monster but wanted to own a few choice cards. After a few e-mails and a pleasant phone conversation, I packed up 6 HOFer's and mailed them off to a perfect stranger halfway across the country.
Today in the mail I received 34 55 All-American football cards. I was always interested in the set but thought starting it was something that I would not be able to do any time soon.
With some of the horror stories of scammers, dealing was Fred was a great experience and just a pleasure. It's members like him that makes this hobby enjoyable. With all the shilling and altering and FBI talk, it's great to get back to the grass roots and trade cards.
Thanks Fred, your 55's have a good home.
P.S. For eveyone that has expressed interest in trades Iwill be away for 2 weeks and I am putting everything on hold for that time. If you still have interest then, I will contact everyone. Thanks for understanding, Joe

thanks joe, it was a true pleasure dealing with you as well. the all americans is a great set i hope you finish it up. if i can be of any help just let me know. joe your a great trader i would defintely trade with you again. your T206's are beautiful and addicitive i have to fight the urge of collecting them too, maybe slowly here and there. they'll be treasured.

i actually have had a big deal on these boards ($400 for that jordan) go south in a bad way but this deal was twice as big and couldn't have been smoother. there are some great traders and collectors on these boards and we can't let those select few spoil it for everyone. keep trading and getting the word out about the screwballs and they will take care of themselves.

thanks joe have a good safe trip. i'm sure we'll talk again.

I'm bumping this thread back to the first page. We get a thread about shipping charges 6 pages long and
bogus auctions from Gary 2 seperate posts and 8 pages total, but a thread about good things that happen
in the hobby, lasted on the front page for a total of 5 hours. Do I need I post pictures of Breasts to keep it
on the front so some members can see some good things do happen in this hobby?

    Someone posts some Breasts.

    BIG Breasts.

Great to hear of a success story.

This certainly is what the hobby is all about. The unfortunate part is that these trades typically involve on or both parties taking interest in a new set and thereby spending WAY more than they anticipated on their new found interest.

Or maybe that's just me. image

You are right though - sometimes (most of the time) tales of the bad very much outweigh the good. For a good example, just take a look at the nightly news.

Awesome to hear, and I'll keep it going by bumping again.

And I second the vote for Post of the Year to the breasts! I just laughed very loudly at my desk at work when I saw that!
