WHY GET A VOUCHER IF A SUBMITTED CARD ISN'T GRADED.......YET NO VOUCHER WHEN PSA/DNA REJECTS AN AUT

Am i missing something.....are you paying for the service of looking at the card (grade, authentication) or paying for the encapsulation???? Seems like the same logic should be used for PSA/DNA right?????

hmmm Not sure what you are getting at but when they reject an auto it has rendered an opinion. That is the auto is NG. And thus they have done a job. If they reject it cuz they have no holder then I assume you do get a voucher. My question would be why when you do in fact are awarded a voucher why it comes in the mail 2 weeks later?

You are paying for the service, if their experts render the auto questionable or bad, you just don't get the encapsulation. I think it's fair they get paid for doing their job.

Not a complaint........but another user said he got a voucher because his cards didn't meet requirements (if i read it right). Thus not graded, the service right? And the other post was a different question/comment, but thanks for noticing.

Help me out.......when a card gets rejected for trimming or another reason, do you get a voucher? or did you pay for the service of telling you the card was altered, trimmed, etc.............and are you out the grading fee?
    Thanks

you get a voucher only under certain conditions. this is from the psa site.

    NO GRADE DEFINITIONS
If the grade of your card is available and is listed with one of the following grades, this card was determined to be un-gradable for the following reasons.

N-1 Evidence of Trimming - When a card’s edge has been altered, a card doctor may use scissors, scalpel, cutter, or any other cutting instrument. A trimmed card may show one of the following: Hook up or down, have one razor sharp edge, a difference in toning along the edge, a wavy look.
N-2 Evidence of Restoration - When a card’s paper stock is built up - for example, when ripped corners are built up to look like new corners.
N-3 Evidence of Recoloration - Where a card’s color has been artificially improved.
N-4 Questionable Authenticity - This is the term used when a card is counterfeit.
N-5 Altered Stock - This term is used when the paper stock is altered in one or more of the following ways: Stretching and trimming, recoloring and restoring, trimming and recoloring, restoring an trimming, crease or wrinkle is pressed out, or gloss is enhanced.
N-6 Minimum Size Requirement - When a card is significantly undersized according to factory specifications. You will be given a voucher good for another submission for the same type of service.
N-7 Evidence of Cleaning - When a whitener is used to whiten borders or a solution is used to remove wax, candy, gum or tobacco stains.
N-8 Miscut - This term is used when the factory cut is an abnormal cut. The grading fees are returned. You will be given a voucher good for another submission for the same type of service.
N-9 Don't Grade - When we do not grade an issue. The cards may be oversized or an obscure issue. The grading fees are refunded. You will be given a voucher good for another submission for the same type of service.
N-0 Authentic Only - This means that PSA is only certifying that the item is genuine, without a numerical grade. This may be due to the existence of an alteration, one with malice or otherwise, a major defect or the original submitter may have requested that PSA encapsulate the card without a grade. The "Authentic" label means that the item, in our opinion, is real but nothing more.

So you only get a voucher for N6, N8 and N9. A fake card like a fake or unauthenticated auto is not graded and you dont get a voucher.

    No and yes.

The only reason I know of is that they have no holder or they do not grade those cards.

If they find a card to be trimmed or recolored etc you do not get a voucher.

Not sure what is so hard to understand, if PSA or PSA/DNA render an opinion they consider it a job done. The opinion can be the card is trimmed or the auto is fake. In those cases they will not grant a voucher. They feel that they have done the job, and any reasonable person would agree. Now if you send them in something and they have no holder for it they will grant you a voucher.

They keep your submission fee correct?

yes if they deemed the card is altered, NO if they do not have a holder that fits the card.

i dont think that gradind services should be a focus for his collection. he obviously doesnt understand what is going on by simply reading the policy that i posted from PSA's website. its pretty clear when you get a voucher and when you dont.

ebay, it seems as though everybody's ganging up on you because you seem to be blaming PSA for your lack of understanding of their service, like they wronged you in some way and you're a victim. If you came here simply asking questions about things you don't know rather than making accusations against PSA, the board members would happily help you out.

As for the vouchers, it's really not that difficult. jradke clearly copied and pasted their guidelines which aren't at all complicated. PSA never reimburses your grading fees.

What if PSA/DNA rejects it, but President Bush gives the card a half pardon...Does he get a PSA voucher?

I was more po'd i had to call 5 times and they still screwed up the order. The auto getting rejected was just another small factor in the overall debacle. Had the the other submissions been handled corrrectly the lone auto rejection would have been a minor note. ANd yes i was hoping for clarification of what gets vouchered and what doesn't. A simple explanation would have sufficed, instead a cut and paste of half a page....................................from PSA.

Why don't you call cust. service again? or write Joe Orlando an email? or Carol who monitors the board?

When they issue vouchers is pretty cut and dry. Jradkes post pretty much sums it up better than anyone here.

Maybe you will get your voucher if you call them and complain enough, but you are not going to get a voucher from any of the posters here.
