I am new to the boards and just wanted to say hi to everyone. I started collecting cards in 1977 at the age of seven. I got out of the hobby in the mid nineties due to the inflated prices of the new product. Well needless to say that I have the bug again after a ten year lay off. It all started with me pulling out a storage container in search of oddball items to put up on ebay. My interest was sparked again just by doing that. Like what appears to be many others the Topps set of this year really put me back into the swing of things too. I do like the cards but I am turned off by all of the inserts and what I still consider to be high prices for common product. Therefore it is back to vintage baseball only for me , 1973 on down. I am working on the high numbers for 73 and 72 to complete the sets. I am also over 3/4 done with 69-71. After that I plan on working in reverse from 68 down. All raw for me. I am not a big fan of graded cards , however I would go with graded for certain key cards. Thanks to having very generous parents back in the late seventies , early eighties I was able to get alot of the key cards of the fifties , sixties and seventies in a variety of manners including card shows , flea markets , yard sales , friends of the family and lots of other strange oddball moments. Those were the days. Anyways Hello Everyone.

Your story is similar to most people getting back into the hobby...except for the "generous parents" part.
