WAY OT, BUT NEED SOME IDEAS

Ok guys I have a good question for all of you. But first let me tell you what's up. My 5 month old grand-daughter, Kylee, has been diagnosed with small nerves in her eyes which has led to underdeveloped eyesight. Meaning that she's having problems focusing on objects and is pretty much legally blind right now. The doctor also said that it's impossible to tell what her future may bring. He did indicate that her sight may get better but will not get any worse. Of course it's hard to tell exactly how good her eyesight is right now but she doesn't look at you or at things that you put in front of her. He did say that she needed to have as many black and white toys as possible because black and white will stimulate the nerves in her eyes that could aid in her having normal eyesight. Ok, now for the question:
Do you guys have any ideas of toys that are black and white? Or do you have kids that have black and white toys? If so what are they? My wife went to Walmart today and could only find a couple of things.

Maybe find some plastic toys for infants like those rings and buy a few and just pick out the black and white ones if there are any. Or try some bulding blocks and find a child safe type black and white color paint and paint them? Best of luck and wishes for your family

    Sooner,
I am sorry to hear about your granddaughter, And will keep her and your family in our prayers.
My wife works with children and says that she thought a brand called "Sassy" makes black and white toys;Or you may be able to go to the Toys R Us website and do a search for black and white toys.

  • A quick google search yielded this site, best of luck.
  • Banker is right. There is a brand of toys called Sassy. They are predominantly black and white with occasionally red thrown in. I believe Target sells them, among others.

God Bless and best of luck.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

One of my favorite things in life are penguins. I'm sure you can find plenty of plush penguins in black and white at your local toy store.

  • You might try something like this:

Both of my kids loved it when they were that age. They did not have eyesight problems, but our doctor reccomended black, white and red toys to develop better eyesite and recognition skills. There are quite few toys and games available in black, white and red combinations. If you do a search at Amazon you'll find a few more:

  • Actually the news the doctor gave us today was better than expected. The first doctor said that she might had an optice nerve that didn't fully develop. Meaning that she would be partially blind for the rest of her life. Atleast today we can see a little sunshine through the clouds. I needed some good news today because before I got off work I found out that a guy that I work with was in the hospital. They haven't found out what's going on just yet but he has pancreasitis(or however it's spelled) and his internal organs are shutting down. I talked to his daughter and the doctor told them that the only organ that's working ok right now is his heart. I couldn't see him because when I went to the hospital she told me that they had just taken him to do some tests and that it would be atleast 2 hours and I wanted to get home to find out about my granddaughter. Well, thanks for everything buddies but I'm goin to bed. It's late for an old fart like me.
