The sizes vary with the 55 Bowmans. I've seen many oversized. You have to check the edges to see if they are consistant all the way to the corner. Show us board members a scan. Mickey71

You may want to PM mikeschmidt about this. He's the local resident guru on '55 Bowmans.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
As noted, these cards came from packs in VARIOUS sizes, although the standard size mentioned is the correct one. Many who were around for the Paris, TN find personally experienced this (although I did not participate at the time, as I was only 11...)
So basically, you can have a standard size card that is indeed a trimmed-down version of an oversized card. Undersize cards may not be trimmed, as many left the factory that way. The only card I would say is foolproof is an oversized example with tiny breaks in the border edges -- which is also common on the issue. For what it is worth, 1955 Bowmans were cut slightly differently than many other contemporaneously produced cards. As such, it is not the easiest issue by which to determine trimming, even amongst the experts.
Finally, there has been a proliferation of ultra-high grade 1955 Bowman baseball cards that ended up primarily in GAI holder in the past 3-4 years. The vast majority of those are trimmed and/or re-glossed.
