NAXCOM Question

I checked out NAXCOM for the 1st time today. Who runs it? Most of the prices I saw would make Levi blush. Has anyone had success using them to buy or sell? Their fees looked high, but I liked the idea of owing nothing if an item does not sell.

I don't know much about it but that gary that ripped people off here is selling stuff there. maybe do a search and you can find his seller name.

I have had success buying items there. The list price is typcially high but the listing allows you to make a "buy" offer and you can submit what you want to pay. I have purchased several cards that way and never a problem.

I bought some JR Richard cards that I needed from a few a sellers on NAXCOM, condition was not as good on some as I had hoped but overall it wasn't bad. One of the better things is the fixed shipping cost and most sellers offer free shipping if you buy X amount.

  • I found some hard to find 2000 Collector's Edge Supreme cards through there for less than 1/2 low book. I found some stuff that I need on Beckett Market Place but I'm staying away from there as long as I can. Most of them want high book and charge alot for shipping. Though I did find one store that was reasonable.

The great thing about NAXCOM is that everything is guaranteed. The money is handled through NAXCOM. The money is taken from the buyer and basically held in escrow until 12 days after the seller sends the item. If the item is not received by the buyer, then the money is never given to the seller. They brag that there has never been an unresolved dispute.

I have sold a lot on NAXCOM and have bought some.

  • I have boought lots of cards off there and have sold a few. I usually sell by cruising the buyers listings and finding them instead of waiting for them. I have bought alot of cards. I bought 15 1992 Rod Smith rookies last year for .50 cents each. A couple of them are no slabbed.

Naxcom has good customer service. like someone else already said, shipping is fixed and money is handled through Naxcom.

They are privately owned and have a pretty small staff, at least on the Naxcom side. You can call them and a real person answers.

The stock market design is great and it seems that The Pit, which is owned by Naxcom, has perfected it.

The reason I no longer like to use it is, their search engine leaves something to be desired. If they adopted Ebay's or sportlots search system, and combined it with their own selling philosophy and procedures, they could be the best. I really do not like that there is no consistency in their searches.

I really do not understand why they do not fix it. The Pit has a great search engine.

    Just my 2 cents
  • I use it to buy/sell as well.

I love the Buy offer option, helps me post cards I want and maybe someday.....

Had a few problems buying with condition and even a buyers remorse on a Jeter/Bush I sold. Everything always worked out. Live customer service is a plus too.
