This might be an off the wall topic but I was looking at some 67s and 65s on Ebay and noticed that quite a few players wore glasses back then. I thought it would be funny to post some of the funniest looking ones. This guy Veale is always wearing some goofing looking glasses on his cards.

Because I wear glasses I have started a collection of players that wear them to.

There are some good Ryne Duren cards. Ill see if I can find any when I get home.

I also remember Veale wearing glasses that had wire earpieces that almost wrapped completely around his ears so that they would stay on. He was a tough leftie.

The old Lowell Palmer 70 Topps card is a winner also.

Love that Ricketts (sounds like an STD), never had one though when I was collecting 67s, but still one of my favorites. It just reeks of the 60s, love the birth control style glasses.

Never had WHAT -- the Ricketts card or an STD??

I was in Thailand while in the USAF, so I had one of the above (and I didn't collect '67 Topps either!)...

Playing high school and college ball in the 70's, I always seemed to break at least one set of glasses per year. Finally, my father, in a fit of frustration, purchased a set of thick, black safety glasses in my prescription for me to wear while playing sports. I called them my "Cookie Rojas" glasses. ... They lasted about 3 months before I broke them in a collission in a baseball game. Then he finally agreed to let me get fitted for contacts.
