1996 Steve Young Electronic Game...Still Works

Hello all,

I have a 1996 Steve Young Electronic Game I had purchased new and put it away in the closet. Sorting through things yesterday I found it and amazingly....the batteries are still good. If memory serves me correct, the exact same game was sold in an Aikman version. Sadley the game does not use Young's voice.

The game has a Nitendo feel to it....you can run at an angle and leave the defender behind you.

I remember those. Almost the same feel as Madden 2007.

"Can you handle Steve Young's intimidating phrases?
    - Call that a punt?
    - Gonna crush you!
    - Lucky kick!
    - That's your last!
    and more..."

For some reason, hearing Steve Young yell "Gonna crush you!" would be halarious!

It seems like in every pic or video of Steve in his career, he always was making the same open mouthed expression like he was running scared.

I wonder if his Canton bust has the same expression?

Games have really changed over the yrs!

I'm one of the game board collectors here and we're in the 21st century and kids are playing with amazing games:

but back in the 50s kids played with games like this:

any game that actually used a battery was "new age" and progressive!

While computer games today are unbelievable, I do like the graphics of the old games.

Parker Bros Peg Baseball, circa 1908 - great graphics - the action generated by dice and or spinner!

    Wow!

Cool game Mark - thanx for sharing.

And back in the 1980s/early 1990s, kids played with this:

The Nintendo Entertainment System. Your parents help you hook it up. image

Those were the days eh? You don't need no fancy waving remotes or Blu-Ray players. Why just a good solid D-pad and two red buttons are all you need! I even remember back when i was in second grade (88/89) and seeing letters to Santa on the bulletin board asking for a Nintendo with "Nintendo tapes". Those were the days eh?

Now if you'll excuse me, I must go down to the corner store and buy some more 50 cent packs of 1989 Donruss and 1989 Topps. image

Estil is making me feel old. Nintendo is NOT old school for some of us old fogies.... Atari 2600 and ColecoVision.... NOW you are talking old school. Heck, I remember the original Pong only consoles. Damn whippersnappers, make yourself useful and go fetch me my Geritol.

Heh. I remember when my dad brought home our first gaming system.. an Atari 2600. Me and my sisters were fighting over who'd get to play. It came with "Combat", a 2 player game where you could shoot at each other with tanks or planes. I loved it. image
