Funny how much the castles on the first remind me of early-19th century Spanish 8-maravedis coinage.

I love your crocodilian/snakey one. I can see why you've wanted one for so long.

    << <i>I love #2 and #3, but I hate snakes!!!!! >>

I should tell them the story of how our beloved but paranoid Dead King once shot a defenseless tarpaulin, believing it to be a snake.

In his backyard, beneath a layer of old leaves and partially buried in the dirt, was one of those woven plastic tarps. I think it had a camouflage pattern on it. Only one fold of the tarp was partially exposed from the dirt, and with the weave in it looking like snake scales and the camo pattern on it, it really did look rather serpentine- I saw it myself on a visit.

Michael took out his WW2-era PPK and blasted the thing. I wasn't around to see that, unfortunately, or I would've laffed my arse off. image

PS- I'll bet they go through a lot of garden hoses at his place. image

Oh yeah- another time we were down in Fernandina, Fla, on a detector outing. I had just dug up a sweet War of 1812-era Artillery Corps button. Michael was stooped below a palmetto tree, digging a target of his own, when I casually tiptoed over, took a small green rubber snake from my pocket, and let it fall from the palm frond onto his hat. He leapt up REAL fast, and for a split second there, I thought he was gonna punch my lights out.

I had a small green snake fall off a tree branch onto MY hat, once, but it wasn't made outta rubber! image

This happened after my prank that was mentioned above, so I suppose it was karma. What comes around goes around.

Shudder... SNAKES! There is nothing I dislike more than snakes. I have a couple of battle wounds on my boots from rattlers in California, and a nasty scar on my leg from a copperhead encounter here in Arkansas. Dummy me was working in the garden barefoot and stepped on it. I got struck and have a nice divot in my leg to show for my folly. To this day, I shake every tomato plant with a rake before picking any and always make lots of noise and stomp around (in boots) before pulling weeds or reaching down to inspect my veggies. I wouldn't kick your butt for dropping a rubber snake in my treasure hole, But would watch you dance with the remaining ammunition from my S&W 686 revolver after I plugged that rubber snake! image
