I'm no PSA expert (in fact, I basically don't believe in graded cards) but that is one sweet Reggie. I'm betting a PSA 9 NQ.

Agreed on the grade!! Why not get it graded, why leave money on the table if you ever wanted to sell it??
  • handymanhandyman Posts: 5,396 ✭✭✭✭✭
I am, Im sending it today. I just got it yesterday.
I think its one of the Nicest centered with sharp corners 1969 jackson I have ever seen.

w/o telling us teh actual price, did you pay psa 8 equivalent or higher?

    truly nice card also.

    julen

ps: i would also suggest using the highest priced grading service available, you don't want some bulk graders touching this card!

WAY WAY LOVER THAN AN 8.
  • handymanhandyman Posts: 5,396 ✭✭✭✭✭
It looks like a 9 but I think they will slash it to an 8. 1 of the 4 corners has a tiny chip and on the back the corners are mint. Im hoping for a 9 grade. But the lowest I am expecting is a HIGH end PSA 8. What do you think a high end 8 that centered would sell for on ebay? Im moving to Sweden in 3 months so I need cash.

    Lets get a 9!

8......maybe 7, hope not for you.

send it to me and I'll send you my PSA 8!
Very nice. I paid around $350 for mine, but the seller had an error in the listing title and most people didn't see the auction I am sure.
If it's an 8 I bet you will get close to $500 for it. If it's a 9, the sky is the limit.
  • handymanhandyman Posts: 5,396 ✭✭✭✭✭
a 7!!?? Have you seen the 7's that sold on ebay last week. 70-30 centering with clear wear. I dont think this has a slight chance at a 7.
    Thanks for the info though
  • handymanhandyman Posts: 5,396 ✭✭✭✭✭
I picked this one up for 310.00
  • mkg809mkg809 Posts: 1,320 ✭✭
Very good buy in my opinion.

This card looks awesome I would be more worried about it being a fake then the grade as an 8 is a lock. I would say maybe even 600 based on how this one looks. If you get a 9 then you should consign it to a majore auction house.

Its not a fake. I know how to tell if it was.
I have several 9's that look like this one as well.
Im hoping for a 9. It will be at psa 3pm tomorrow.
    Fingers crossed
  • It looks like a solid 8. However, it is difficult to tell by a scan. Nonetheless, after you get the card back from PSA, please send me a PM. I would be more then happy to double your money. Let me know.

Top or bottom edge could be trimmed. If not, should be a high end 8.

Thanks Ill let everyone know what it grades. But I dont think Ill sell it if its only 600.00. I was hoping for more like 700.00. Which is what Ill put it on ebay for. I just havent seen a PSA as nice as this one if thats what it grades.
    Thanks guys.
  • handymanhandyman Posts: 5,396 ✭✭✭✭✭
No the bottom is def. not trimmed it measures perfect and its not a mis cut. Its a gem. Also i paid 310 for it bc I pulled it out of a pack that I bought 4 years ago.
  • CDsNutsCDsNuts Posts: 10,092
Not sure I understand- you pulled this exact card from a pack 4 years ago, then sold it, and just bought it back?

You can always hope the baseball RC registry starts to heat up. Kurtz Kardz had one with similar centering to your card and was asking $600 at the last chicago sun times show.

  • If it comes back an 8, then send me a PM. $700 is not out of line for that card.

I think he bought a pack 4 years ago for $310 and amazingly just now opened it?

That makes more sense. Sometimes I don't understand things.

It was fun. I left the wrapper in MINT condition. I think Ill include it or keep it for myself. I kept the wrapper from a 1970 BB pack I busted that I pulled a Pete Rose that graded a 10. Memory sake.
  • handymanhandyman Posts: 5,396 ✭✭✭✭✭
Yea, I bought the pack 4 years ago. And I opened it over this weekend. Its hard to keep a unopened pack collection. I build it up and either sell them or bust them.

Not that bad, Mint but ST. Is it worth anything?
  • frankhardyfrankhardy Posts: 8,143 ✭✭✭✭✭
It is really hard to tell the difference between and 8 and a 9 from a scan. However, I do believe you can tell the difference between a 7 and an 8 most of the time. I think the Jackson is most definitely a high end 8 with a shot at a 9.

I got a kick out of the lower right corner of the wrapper - "a real autographed photo in each pack". OK - send it to PSA/DNA then. They should authenticate that "real autograph". image

What a terrific pull from that pack! Even just to get a Jackson rookie, but with more typical centering would've been awesome. Good luck on the grade of your gem. image
