Anyone do any New High End Product?

I know most you you guys do vintage, so do I. But my wife and I have a small Ebay and mail order business for the local High School Seniors. I usually have a rule that if the sets have no value, they won't do the product. Some of the kids here wanted to do the new UD Premier, so I made a few calls. What the heck is wrong with people! Companies I've done business with for years, and spent tons of money, want a fortune for this stuff.
They acted like they were doing me a favor with a price of $2,500 for 10/5 card packs. I assume it sells, but why? Is there that much money in this hobby? Are people just nuts? Both?

$250 a box seems to be a good price.

  • Good morning, they broke one case/10 packs, it's still difficult to grasp those numbers. I guess they did OK. but I think the rest will be sold sealed. Got a Ruth, and Cobb. Jeter, Ripken, Musial, Miller and some quad auto. 16 total autos in the case. Still don't get the appeal, you can get 8 cases of A&G for the same price. I guess less labor.

    Bigslick

This comes up from time to time and I promise in the right conditions your question could spark a wild fire.

I reached this conclusion - if ya got the money and like crap shoots - why not? If ya hit the lottery - ya might wind up with a prize.

My criticism? Some of the cut sig collages are plain fugly - a shame to cut up a document and 'paste' it on a piece of cardboard when it's not done with good design, taste and class.

That's a lot of money to hit a bunch of common stuff IMO.

And last - I hate bigslick - for some reason I lose with ace-king 99% of the time - it's like someone has my number.

Ace - King is like Anna Kournikova - it looks good but never wins!

I guess what you say is mostly true. I got the name years ago. Had a guy slow play 4 Queens, won a pot so big "a show dog couldn't jump over it" with big slick in hearts. My death hand is 10/Jack suited.

    I'm with ya!

That's my second most annoying hand that looks good preflop but kicks my ass!
