Is it inappropriate to ask seller for feedback?

Ok, so I purcahsed 6 items costing me several hundred bucks. It's been a few weeks. I left positive feedback and have yet to receive any in return. Should I email the seller reminding them? This has happened a few times over the years and it's frustrating. I can overlook it when I spend a buck or two but several hundred is another story! grrrr.

I have has sellers who took a month to leave FB - my guess is they do it once a month?
My take? Wait a bit longer - some sellers can be cranky about people emailing them for FB.
I think it's kind of sorry when they don't leave FB - it's amazing how they get disappointed if you don't leave it.

edit: who is it? Big seller? B&E is very slow.
I would NEVER request FB from any buyer/seller.
Some large sellers leave FB in bulk, and may only
do so once a month.
I leave FB as soon as I receive FB from buyers. I leave
FB for sellers when I receive their items; such sellers
usually leave FB eventually.

Agreed.
"All evil needs to triumph is for good men to do nothing."
After 30-60 days, (i.e., buying or selling!),
I'll send messages something like this:
"...I want to thank you for the nice card! I left you positive feedback for a smooth transaction. At your convenience, if you were happy with this transaction, like I was, maybe you can leave me positive feedback too? TIA Bob aka: rbdjr1..."
"...Just a quick note to say thanks for your payment! I left you positive feedback. I hope you enjoy the card I sent you? If you are satisfied with our transaction, positive feedback from you would be greatly appreciated! I offer 100% satisfaction, so if you have any problems whatsoever, I'd like to hear from you. Sincerely, Bob aka: rbdjr1..."
4 or 6 times a year, I go into my "feedback forum", and send out simular messages.
It works fine, usually, 50-75% of the missing feedbacks, are completed, with a friendly reminder. It seems that, both buyers and sellers, "just plain forget" sometimes.
I do not recall a single instance where a buyer or a seller objected to my friendly messages! Not even once!

There is no question that the practice is reasonable.
It is simply frowned on by most folks. Few folks would
EVER complain about it, but it just looks a little over the
top to many folks.
Some psycho sellers have been known to leave NEGs
after being "harassed" by buyers about leaving FB.
Obviously, I am not one of those sellers.

Agreed. After 6 weeks, if I have shipped an item timely, posted feedback, and heard nothing from the buyer, I will send a polite message asking for feedback "at their convenience" and not sound pressured about it, but let them know it is appreciated.
The worst they can do is say -- "NO."
P.S. Actually, the worst they can do is post a psychotic retaliatory feedback, but the chances of this are so low, it is -- in my opinion -- negligible.
I did get a little miffed when I was asked to leave feedback when I had done so already and in a timely manner.
Be careful, lots of TOUCHY people out there.
JB
I appreciate the advice.
Thank you!
As a seller, I post feedback for buyers right after they pay in 99% of the transactions (I know Storm888 thinks this is a big mistake). In nine years of ebay selling I'm lacking over 2000 return feedbacks from buyers that I've left positive FB for. It just doesn't matter to me anymore. My opinion might be different if I were just starting out on ebay and was trying to establish my rep. online.
Hopefully the seller in your case will leave you pos. FB soon.
