    Phillster,

I have all of the Lincolns you need, many in multiple grades ranging from G to PCGS MS67 Certified. I would be at or below gradesheet on the raw coins. I have several hundred certified lincolns as well. I will also be able to fill a few holes in your Franklin, Washington and Kennedy collections as well.
    Best Regards,

    Rob

<< <i>Hey those are way to expensive for me. >>

    Phil,

I am a little confusedimage At bid on greysheet for keys and below bid greysheet for others is too expensive? I do mostly cetified coins so my big question is: Is there something going on in the raw coin market that I am not aware of? Is it like baseball cards where you get half of bid or below? Should I expect to sell a 1912-S in AU at $19 instead of selling it for $69?
    Best Regards,

    Rob

Well, he accused me of trying to rip him off based on his red book prices, so maybe we should assume he's just inexperienced (or cheap).

Just a friendly piece of advice, Phillster: Nobody is making you buy their coins at their prices. If you don't think a price is fair, you'd be far better off just politely declining than accusing the person of trying to rip you off or saying their prices are outrageous. You won't make many friends in the coin world that way.

  • << <i>Well, he accused me of trying to rip him off based on his red book prices, so maybe we should assume he's just inexperienced (or cheap).

I'm guessing both assumptions are close to reality here.

  • He did the same to me. I was going to offer him some Quarters at real good pricing but he accused me of being a rip-off also cause his "Red book" said something different...
    I say "GO AWAY"

  • I worked out a trade for my 1937 quarter. He supposedly sent me his 1954S quarter. But after 40 PMs back and forth it became annoying. And I hope he has sent my coin. One annoying thing was the trade was worked out on Sunday and he wanted to know if I had mailed it. Well post offices are closed Sunday. My guess is this is a kid. Poor guy. But who knows, maybe an adult. Whatever, just had to rant. It takes a lot of patience to eventually (maybe) help a newbie. Anyway the most I can lose is a quarter!

  • You put up with more than I. After 13 PM's I put a stop to it.
He kept offering to buy my 1932 D for $25. If I didn't like that price he got from the "Red Book" I was ripping him off.

Glad I sold it to someoe else

I'll be patient with a beginner - provided they aren't rude or pushy about it. This is a hobby for me - that means when it stops being fun, I don't have to deal with it. image

    Donny, Ragtag and Pendragon,

Thank you for the reality check. I was very concerned that I might have been doing something wrong or missing a market. That's the great thing about these boards, if you are a little off one way or the other the masses will point it out.

    Thanks again,
    Best Regards,

    Rob

I tried to help him out with a bunch of semi-key quarters and he balked at melt price.

He then told me $3.00 shipping for 25 coins was too much and that he wanted me to list the coins on eBay
and put a "Buy-it-Now" of $5000 or best offer and he would put his best offer in.

I slowly grew irritated with him after a dozen or so pm's...I'm pretty easy to deal with but I also suggest STAY AWAY.
  • Well guess who sent me a PM this morning regarding his Merc dimes to trade? OK I've regained some patience. Curiosity is getting the better part of my reasoning. I guess I will continue negotiating by sending PM # 42. LOL

  • WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IS THERE A WAY TO BLOCK PM'S FROM SOMEBODY ON HERE?????

IF THERE IS PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO DO IT.

    THX
    DONNYJF
  • The answer is yes you can block them. But you'd have to fiddle around to find out how.

    Ragtag,

You are a true enabler!imageimage He sent me a PM and after seeing everything each of you said here was my response:

    Phil,

Good luck on your search to improve your collection. As for me, after reading these boards I think I will have to pass.

    Good luck and best regards,

As I mentioned to PenDragon, I am not looking to sell to all collector's just the right (reasonable) ones.
    Best Regards,

    Rob
